I'm so sorry. I get that this is a popular read and even that the author has won accolades and been lauded by the likes of the Andy Warhol museum or some such. I almost never say "I could have written this" but, ANYONE could have written this. These are the types of poems either I wrote when I was very young or that I write and know darn well they are not poems but just musings that need to be refined. If this is what "frank" means these days, then count me out. Nothing original whatsoever. The thoughts of every person in and out of love which I guess is why people like it so much but please stop underselling your own self - you could have done this.

Lyrical and so lovely
I was captured by this book because of how elegantly simple and economical with words Lang Leav’s poetry is. The poems touch on moments and emotions so beautifully and for some there was a strong emotional impact for me. Her poems were so resonant with me, and I felt very moved by this collection. The book moves from the feeling of looking for someone, and losing someone, to finding love and happiness, and it’s wonderful to read each piece and take in the experience it’s trying to convey. I feel like this is a book that I will come back to many times over and be stirred by new things at different times in my life. The illustrations by the author are quirky and cute, and while they didn’t add too much to the feel of the poems for me, it was wonderful to see how talented the author is and how this book felt so much like a true piece of art.

Slightly Disappointing
I was barely able to finish this book and it required the most sleepless of nights for me to pursue its meloclimatic ending. It certainly wasn't a poetic feast of words on offer, with what seems to be a collection of free verse poetic interludes, most probably extracted from her Tumbler account. The authors saving grace is the broad blank canvas from which she derives her theme: Love, Misadventure, and Poetry. From both of which, humanity has managed to extract the driest of juices from their fruit, and as such provided LL the opportunity to bring her work to the table.I enjoyed 'Sundays with Michael' as if provided an insightful glimpse into her life. While that might seem intrusive, I know it's what readers frequently seek. What I sought however, was poetry of love, and while I discovered that within a couple of her poems, but most of them to be more like brief peck upon the lips as opposed to something that enraptured the palette of my soul.

For the Sappy Romantic
The perfect book to read in your bathtub with a glass of wine and a piece of dark chocolate. When I get in my sulky moods this is especially great. Beautiful and simple poems, well organized, and not all that abstract yet they can get you thinking. I look forward to buying more from this author because she thinks the way I do. Miss Leav, I am a huge fan. The illustrations are a nice addition too. ( Side Note: I am a 21 y/o female)

Many Lovely Poems
This book was a purchase well made! I enjoyed reading many of the poems. Most of the work is short, simple, yet hauntingly beautiful and I felt myself really connecting with some of the poems. The reason I am knocking down one star is because although many of the poetry was powerful and evocative, there were a few poems in there that kind of made me scratch my head and wonder how I went from one lovely poem on one page then turn the page to read something such as:"He makes me blush! He makes me want to brush and floss!" Girl, I hope he doesn't have a nasty mouth to make you want to clean your own.In all seriousness though, it just felt like the author did not put as much thought into some poems that they lacked the same depth and maturity as the others. Some of these shallow poems did have potential though. Don't get me wrong, I was still able to very much enjoy this book. The thoughtful, well written poems make this book worth the buy! And I must also mention, the included artwork is delightful!

I've been following Lang Leav as like many other people on Instagram and really liked her work. I found the shorter works more like ideas/concepts you'd just think up to fill out the pages, whereas the longer poems have more substance and are beautifully written. There are some real nice pieces in there which make it worth while to read but finished it quite quickly (30mins to be exact). Felt a little cheated as some pages just contain one sentence which read like an antsy teenager in love.

Wonderfully insightful
There is a beautiful simplicity in the words of this book, and yet in saying that, I found many of the poems, and the feelings that they created within me, to be thoroughly complex.Though all individual poems, when read at once, like I did, (and I dare you to even try not to), it forms an abstract story of the feelings and occurances of a love life. It is, as most others have said a wonderful book to be cherished. There are so many amazing things I could say about this book, so much so that I feel everyone should read it. Therefore, even if you are not a reader of poetry, (like me), I implore you to buy it, as like me, you'll probably be thoroughly suprised and delighted.

Beautiful book but not in perfect condition
The cover of this book is absolutely beautiful but unfortunately not in perfect condition, as the packaging it arrived in was very poor and didn't protect it. That being said, I love Lang Leav's poems and definitely plan on reading more of her works. I would've given it 5 stars if it wasn't for the bend edges of the book.

Beautiful wordplay but sometimes it was confusing!
The poems and stories Lang Leav has created are so wonderful in how they explain and paint out the trials and ventures of the human heart. The book which was much shorter than I had imagined put a lot of feelings into words and it attempts to educate and make us aware of the lovely as well as the unfortunately heartbreaking tales we go through in life through Leav's eyes. Regardless if they are real or not. If you want to get lost inside a very happy, vast and valiant poetry that spell love out in all it's wonder go for it but that is only 1/3 of the book. The other 2/3 are dark and heartbreaking, you need to be prepares for that as it jumped up on me without warning.

A beautiful insight
It's a comprehensive look into the world of youth and love. A very nice blend of longer and shorter pieces
