Excellent adaptive mouse

This is the second adaptive mouse I've tried. I have pain in my wrist from years of computer work and switching to a trackball just made my thumb hurt. This mouse has been a great thing for me. By turning your hand more upright it reduces the strain in your wrist a lot and the angle of that increase is adjustable. Also, the scroll wheel that's normally between the other mouse buttons has been moved to the "top" edge of the mouse where it can be scrolled either with a finger or a thumb, which has helped me also. It also has forward and back buttons in where your thumb sits. I wasn't sure how practical that was at first but I use the back button quite often now, because it's so much easier than moving up to use the back arrow on the screen with the mouse or moving the hand that's on the mouse to the backspace key on the keyboard to go to the previous page. I would definitely recommend this if you want to give your wrists a break. Make note, this mouse is big enough for a medium to large hand. Some others I tried were not. I didn't even realize there were different sizes before I started looking for one.

Great feeling mouse, well built and good design.... but BASE is too large!

I understand that the above posting covers four different mouse models, but I got the one with the tilt-feature. If the base was not so large, this mouse would have been my top pick out of the 7 vertical mouses I purchased over the weekend. The design for the mouse itself is great and the material is nice. The scroll wheel is large and has a very satisfying click to it. The mouse also illuminates with a pallet of colors. The massive base prevents my pinky or palm from touching the desk. I like to "feel" the desk with my pinky when I'm making small minute movements of the mouse. When you can't feel the desk, you can't get a sense for how much the mouse is moving, physically. Also, the part of the base "pad" where your pinky rests has this corrugated pattern on it which will surely make my pinky sore over days or weeks of use.In general, if the wide base and adjustable tilt were removed, this would be a 6/5 mouse! The design of the rest of the mouse, including sensors and hardware, is all top-quality. The adjustable-tilt base simply ruins it. Find an angle you like, chop off the base, and put some weights inside it. Then you have a 12/10 mouse.

V628X Review - Not made for small hands

I’ve been having hand pain for ages when using a regular mouse and was told a vertical one may offer some relief. This review is for the V628X model - these reviews seem to be mixed in with their other models and I didn’t realize until after I ordered. TL:DR - Not suitable for smaller hands. Heavy, bulky, and takes a noticeable effort to move around a mousepad. Mouse wheel is awkward and the adjustable angle isn’t worth the added bulk to the design. Unplugged it after a few hours and went back to my original mouse.I’ve had it for about a day and already I can say that I hate it for a few different reasons: first, it’s massive and heavy. Definitely not for smaller hands. I have to anchor my pinky strongly against the base to make sure there’s enough pressure to make the thing move without losing my grip. It becomes a strain to maneuver it around due to its bulk and weight while also requiring a lot more real estate to move. My current mouse glides across my mouse pad whereas this hulk feels like it’s being dragged. It’s all one piece and requires a lot of space to move. Second, the mouse wheel is just awkward. Maybe it’s because I have small hands or maybe it’s just poorly placed. It wiggles around a lot and doesn’t feel stable when being used. You can “click” it, but it’s horribly awkward to do so. I end up hitting other buttons when trying to use it. Lastly, it’s too tall to store in an under mounted keyboard tray. As far as comfort and suitability for relieving pain? I can see the benefit. If my hands were a bit larger then maybe it would be easier to use. This mouse does offer a more comfortable way of holding than the normal ones. It also has a knob you can turn to adjust the angle of the mouse to better suit your comfort; however, it’s comes at a cost of added bulk. Besides the mouse wheel, the overall construction feels sturdy. I’ll be returning and trying something else.

Does not work with mouse pads and some surfaces!

For J-Tech Digital V628X Vertical MousePros: - Works with Linux. The onboard memory lets you program buttons and lighting on Windows with the software, and then use it on a different OS - Adjustable - Good cord length - Lightweight, and glides fine on the surfaces I tried - Unique scroll wheel allows you to scroll with either your thumb or pointer finger, and still has middle mouse clickCons: - Optical sensor is very cheap and doesn't track properly on any mouse pad I have. My main mouse pad is black, but I also tried a cheap light blue one and a white/gray one and it still didn't track. It also didn't track on my work desk (rough, white) which is where I needed it to work. The only surface it worked fine on was my home desk, which is rough and all black, but I don't need it at home. - Not as large as I hoped. This product advertises itself for 'large hands', but it fits my large hands like any other standard size mouse. - In addition to the sensor, the rest of the construction is cheap, particularly the base - Too easy to trigger middle mouse click while scrollingOverall rating: 1 out of 5, poor qualityThis mouse is way too overpriced. Cheaper mice have better sensors. I will be returning this product.

Good concept, comfortable angle marred by bad button layout.

The only adjustable angle vertical mouse that I come across. It a really good concept if you are looking to gradually adapt to a vertical mouse. The finishing provide adequate grip and is comfortable to hold. So why only 2 stars??You have to relearn how to use a mouse! Not due to it being vertical, but due to the fundamental left click, right click and middle scroll position. I have use it primary for 2 weeks daily, there no benefit in trying to use the index finger in trying to cover the task of the left click, the middle click and scroll button. Nor is it productive to have the middle finger take the roll of left click as it becomes counter-intuitive for click combos needed for drawing softwares and games... Please consider relaying the button layouts.
