I love working with this stuff.

Arrived leaking all over package and hard as a rock , such a mess. I had medical issues and missed my return date, very disappointed. For your information the box was not damaged on outside but big mess inside. Will go to store to purchase in person next time.

The first one I received was leaking and damaged and I had to ask for a replacement which was sent right away and a new one which the seller could have done in the first place instead of the whole process again. The product is brilliant as Nitram is always… The 3 star was for the service …

I have to disagree with the previous reviewer. This is a completely different medium. Ive used it as a base underdrawing, finishing with nitram sticks and complete painting only medium. It takes some effort to learn it's uses, but my initial foray finds it does react like charcoal and can be reactivated with water for removal or movement within the drawing. I would highly recommend using with watercolor paper. It gives various value scales and can be erased after drying.

It is basically black gouache. I thought it would have some sort of charcoal property once dry but it behaves the same way as gouache or watercolor pretty much. Disappointed overall.

This is a great product but the bottom crimping of the tube is defective. This expensive product arrived leaking from the tube and made the small amount left difficult to use. Also, the smell of this liquid is really sickening. I hesitate buying another tube if the structure of the tube is defective. As an art teacher info 27 years in a public school it is prohibitively expensive to use in my classroom. Beautiful packaging similar to high end cosmetics.

I've bought several tubes over time and while I like the results from a fresh, make that very fresh tube, I find the oils migrate out too quickly with the result that I either get hard clay-like compound out of the tube or lots of oil with the charcoal compound left behind. I would recommend the purchaser decant the product into a wide-mouth jar where it can be hand mixed prior to use or rotation of the tube ends every two days to keep the oils moving through the charcoal mass. I also would prefer less expensive packaging which might reduce the cost of this fairly expensive product, especially given the difficulty of getting full use of the product.

I find the darkest you can get is a fairly dark grey, not a rich charcoal black. May pay more wity schminke for that. Also separates from the water, tube is a fragile cheap metal. I find this product fun to try but expensive for what you get too.

Le tube de liquid charcoal est arrivé pour la 2eme fois en mauvais etat(fuite du produit,problème d'étanchéité du tube dans son fond et son bouchon!!)... mais je decide cette fois ci de ne pas vous le renvoyer.1. J'ai autre chose à faire de mon temps. 2. Je crains que cela ne soit encore et toujours le même problème. 3. Je trouverai un autre fournisseur. Merci.

Awesome!! Combine the painting qualities of oils for a monochrome study, but it’s charcoal!! Use broad brush and cover large areas!!

I got only ½ of the tube. The box was not damaged, but the tube probably exploded during the transport. So, just I gave up on the idea of liquid charcoal.
