Options Trading for Beginners: How to Get Started and Make Money with Stock Options

Extremely Basic
I'll say first, the photo is deceiving. The book is roughly 60 pages, its more like a pamphlet. I read through and skimmed the entire book in about 15 minutes. It is somewhat informative if you lack any knowledge in options whatsoever. Half the pages are covered with a scanned photo that take up most of the page. Everything is this book can be found online in a short amount of time, along with more extensive information. If you are completely new and want a quick rundown on how options work, this is OK. Im sure the more extensive books have a beginner section though. If you're looking to be an "options trader" there is nothing in here as far as strategy. The section about the greeks is a just a short, 3 sentence definition and that's it.EX: If it was "cooking for beginners", it would explain how a stove works, which pans to use for water, frying, and steaming. Along with utensils needed. You wouldn't become a chef or any learn recipes.

Good Resourse
This is a great beginning book for those interested in options. The book topics are laid out in an easy to read format. There are detailed examples offered and graphs included to illustrate the concepts. This book includes a ready-reference guide for all of the different terms that the reader learns located at the back of the book. It is a great reference guide, the author also offers the reader some strategies that can help the reader to stay organized and begin to profit. This is a must-have for an investor that is just starting out in the world of options trading.

Options Trading for Beginners:
This book is so well written and has such a friendly, breezy tone that I didn't want to put it down. Now, when's the last time you could say that about a book on finance and investing? I have always wanted to know more about investing but was afraid that my eyes would glaze over and I'd struggle to understand it. Instead, I found it interesting and I immediately realized what a great gift to myself and those who want to learn the basics of early investing as well as how to analyze your portfolio as your life changes. I'm recommending this book to my adult children as well as to my friends who are close to retirement age. As we are likely to live longer than our parents, we want to know that we are as financially prepared as we can be and that we UNDERSTAND enough to discuss our portfolio.

Great reference guide for the beginning options trader
This is a great book for the beginning options investor. The book is a great resource for the various vocabulary and terminology that a trader will encounter during the course of business. The topics are laid out in an easy to read format. There are detailed examples offered and graphs included to illustrate the concepts. This book includes a ready-reference guide for all of the different terms that the reader learns located at the back of the book. This was incredibly convenient as I tried to reference back to what I had read. In addition to being a great reference guide, the author also offers the reader some strategies that can help the reader to stay organized and begin to profit at this complicated activity. This is a must-have for an investor or trader that is just starting out in the world of options trading.

waste of time and money
With 78 pages of spaced out text, hastily put together EXCEL charts and unreadable low-resolution screenshots, I would not call this a 'book' but a pamphlet. It covers the lingo of options trading, but in no way does it explains 'how' to trade options. It is no better than reading investopedia, which you can do for free. The title is a total over-statement: in order to start making money with options, one would have to understand how they work, but this leaflet only states the obvious, recites the definitions, but offers no concrete example of the so many possible strategies: it just lists the possibilities and says: "once your figured what you want to do, go to the next step!" without explaining how you would figure what to choose; There is no coverage of the implication of one strategy over another. The part about the greeks is laughable: besides stating things like delta 1.0 is good, 0.0 no good, over bad graphics without any legend or scale, it doesn't say anything about what to look for, how these values change and what would make a good buy or a good sale.I mean, come on, I could have written this book!I didn't learn anything I didn't know, I would save the $2.99 for that burger at your favorite fast-food for the times when you'll have blown your account with this kind of advice.

Great guide filled with golden Options Trading information!
I heard a lot of great things about trading options and decided to give this book a try. The beginning of the book had a thorough explanation of what Options trading is including the benefits, how to get them, and most importantly exactly what options trading is. A detailed description of call and put options and international options trading such as exotic options. All of this information built up to the true meat of this book which shows formulas and details of exactly how to invest money into options trading! Worth every penny. I recommend this book to anyone interested in options trading!

AN excellent guide to options trading
I have read several books on stock options and this one is great because it does a very basic and yet straight to the point walk-through of the book. You know how some books are long winded and you only walk away with a little bit of knowledge? Well reading this book I felt exactly the opposite. Not a long book but SUPER POWERFUL with ideas that you can implement right away and in today's busy world - I appreciate that the author respects my time and just delivers the goods.

Useful
I've read quite a few books on beginning in options and Options Trading for Beginners: How to Get Started and Make Money with Stock Options byJ. D. Scott, was the best. I say that because it was easy to understand and follow. I like how it's organized and it didn't assume I knew anything but also didn't talk down to me. I found it very useful and definitely recommend to anyone else looking to get into options.

Strictly for beginners only.
It does a good enough job as an introduction and would be helpful for the complete beginner. But it's not the book for the reader that already knows something about the subject (I read it in twenty minutes - but what do you expect for $3.99?)

Very Useful
I would have to rate this book highly for its no-nonsense advice and comprehensive beginner's instructions to what can be a tricky area for new investors. all the potential risks and rewards are covered in detail, there's an extensive glossary so you'll understand all the industry jargon, and full instructions bout how to set up accounts and start trading. Very useful.

Just what was looking for
This was a nook for my husband, he is very interested in option trading, but didn't know where to start. This book gave him a good idea and he is opened an account since then to follow what he learnt from this book.

Do not buy!
Do not buy this book. You will not learn anything by reading it that you could not learn by reading the most basic options tutorials for free on the web. It is poorly written, uninformative, and utterly lacking in any useful detail. Don't be the fool I was in buying this book.
