Fixed the flame ignition problem our oven was having, worked perfectly again, oven stays at set temp more evenly now :)
Easy fix to a persistent problem, oven consistently would not light after several clicks of the igniter circuit before; now it lights by the second click every time. Only issue we had with installation was lack of good how-to videos, but it is very straightforward DIY job with only a #2 Phillips screwdriver and a 5/16 nut driver for tools, all done from front of oven, no need to remove back panel. A secondary light source is helpful, but not required to get the job done. Didn't find any videos on doing the replacement of this specific part, but did find easy to follow, step by step instructions on several websites.Safety precaution: shut off gas and unplug oven's power cord before attempting igniter replacement.Pro tip: after removing the oven floor and heat panel, place tape or tin foil over the air gaps under the burner tub before removing its mounting screws...if a screw drops though, it is a dickens to get it out, easier to prevent such loss by covering those holes first; remember to remove the same tape and/or foil after remounting the burner tube.Goes without saying, but several negative reviews for this item bring me to post this little reminder: if you're not sure of your oven model or needed replacement part number, look inside first to make sure your oven actually uses the L shaped igniter, not the I shaped one, they are not interchangeable!

Not as pictured. The seller's "picture" is the original OEM product.
Aftermarket product. I spent an hour going through online offerings until I THOUGHT I found an OEM part.....like the seller's picture shows. Notice the U shapped ceramic piece near the metal bracket. Now look at my attached picture of the product i received. The U shaped piece and open and of the Original part is to allow for thermal expansion and contraction and flexibility. Not sure if I'll return it yet.

Must have for igniter issues on a Whirlpool SF362LXSQ 30" Accubake!
I purchased this item about one year ago to fix my Whirlpool oven model SF362LXSQ 30" Accubake which was not igniting or heating up. I also purchased two other components because I didn't want to waste my time taking the oven apart to find out it was something else so I purchased these two additional parts all from Amazon: Whirlpool W10293048 Gas Valve for Range and Whirlpool 8054129 Oven Igniter for Range. I replaced all three parts in my Whirlpool model and so far, one year later, the oven is working perfectly. I had the Whirlpool oven for about 4 years before the broiler died (1st thing to die) and I ignored it because I could live without the feature. Then three years later the oven won't ignite so I couldn't bake (2nd thing to die). This time, I had to do something because unlike broiling, I actually need to be able to bake to make pizzas in the oven. I researched online about what could be the cause and read about solenoid and amperage issues. I checked each solenoid for 216 Ohms resistance (Broil to Common and Bake to Common). I did find that one of the solenoid was defective. If any one is defective neither will operate and the gas valve/regulator has to be replaced. By replacing them all, I avoided the hassle of having to go a day without an oven to make dinner. As stated earlier, my oven is still running fine one year later so I would say that this was a wise investment. It arrived very quickly and is a genuine replacement part. I would definitely recommend this item and would give it 5.0/5.0. -09/23/2014

Works as it should ALMOST all the time!!
Has been working properly at least +95% of the time. Occasionally it won’t ignite on initial start, but will usually produce enough spark on the next try. I’m not entirely sure why it won’t work 100% of the time. Everything looks correct and there is no issue with the gas. It’s just finicky maybe once every 50 starts or so. Repair guy wanted $200 to fix, so well worth the cost to get the 5 year old oven working again. As the saying goes, they just don’t make things like they used to. Pretty sure my grandparents only bought one oven in their entire lives and it worked until past their lifespans.

Not worth it
Don't waste your time purchasing this. I bought it on Amazon because it was cheaper but I should have known better. Our oven was not igniting every time it needed to get hot in order to cook the food, so I called whirlpool and they told me to try this part. It was $45 I think on whirlpools website so I bought here. I got it and installed it and turned on my oven to cook food and it smelled like burning plastic and it didn't even work when the oven needed to ignite again to keep the oven hot. I tried again to see if it would work but it didnt. I returned the product and bought from whirlpools website and the part wasn't even the same color as this one. I installed our new one and haven't had an issue since. If you're trying to cut costs it's not worth the headache. Wish I paid attention to the other reviews

Perfect Match
I ordered this replacement part for my Kenmore oven. When starting the oven you could hear the clicking of the ignition system and the gas ignite, but the gas would shut off. This would happen periodically, but it recently wouldn’t stop this sequence of events.I received this part in three days and installed it in ten minutes. Once installed, I tested the oven. Everything is back to normal.Thank you

***Make sure you get the big pipe OVER the gas spout when re-assembling!
Exactly what I needed, but I didn't install it correctly at first. The first time I tried to install it, the igniter would flash (it wouldn't before) and I could smell gas, but the oven STILL wouldn't light. It's because I hadn't put the base of the big silver pipe (with all the little holes in it) back OVER the gas valve (which was kind of hidden underneath). It was basically like trying to blow up a balloon by putting the balloon hole NEAR the nozzle of a helium tank, instead of putting it OVER the nozzle.

Works Like a Champ!
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Youtube told me that my problem was likely the Igniter. Amazon told me that this was a suitable part for my oven (Maytag, gas). A screwdriver allowed me to access the part in the oven. This igniter arrived on Monday (after ordering on Saturday). A half hour after I got home, the part was installed and the first test showed success! I put everything back together and was cooking with gas in under an hour.

Perfect fit and straightforward repair
Perfect fit OEM replacement. The repair took about 20 minutes. Oven ignited without issue once again, just like the day we bought it. This is the second time I have had to replace this part in my oven. We are averaging about 6 to 7 years per igniter. I imagine that constant exposure to heat and flames causes these units to eventually fail.
