Style Name:Espresso Maker + Ring Reducer Bialetti "Venus" Espresso Maker, Silver, 2 CupsBialetti can be summed up in three words: tradition, quality, design. Three strong values that the Bialetti brand has always respected, and which have marked its long history. It all began in 1919 when the young Alfonso Bialetti set up his workshop for manufacturing aluminium products. In this workshop, the engineer made a famous invention: in 1933 he designed the Moka Express coffee maker. La macchinetta', as the Italians soon dubbed it, became a staple in all the kitchens of the country. Its elegance, its ability to awaken the aromas of coffee and its simplicity then exported it all over the world. Today, the Moka coffee maker is enthroned in the Science Museum in London. The Bialetti company is passionate about the rituals and everyday details that make up the conviviality of our environment. The Moka Express is the best example of this. But even today, Bialetti continues to use all its know-how based on many years of experience to delight coffee lovers. With passion, and elegance at the service of creativity. Elegance is an Italian tradition. Enjoying a coffee is a ritual. Bialetti has designed a coffee maker that is undeniably elegant, with harmonious and pure shapes. A style that will leave no one indifferent at coffee time. Yet form is nothing without substance, and the transalpine brand is well aware of this. Made of 18/10 stainless steel, with a patented safety valve and non-drip spout, compatible with dishwashers and all hotplates. For electric/ceramic induction hobs (only for 4/6/10 cup sizes), do not use the maximum heat intensity but maintain a medium setting. The Venus coffeemaker has all the necessary features for your comfort.KitchenCraft Galvanised Iron Gas Ring Reducer, 12 cm (4.5”)Handy disc that sits securely on stove tops to support small based items such as small pots, coffee pots and espresso makers when boiling. It works fine on a SUITABLE induction hob. Read my review for details and answers to other questions
Ok, I read all the previous reviews and then went ahead and purchased this (the 2 cup model) to work on my induction hob. These are my experiences:1: Does it work on an induction hob? Well, it works on mine, but mine has a specifically designed area for coffee pots and small pans. If you look at the picture I’ve added you’ll see it actually shows an outline of a coffee pot on the hob. My hob is a Zanussi. However, it does clearly state in the manufacturers instructions that only the 4 & 6 cup work on induction hobs so my guess is that it’s an issue of the size of the pot registering on the hob. If you’ve bought one and it doesn’t work, try standing it inside a saucepan that does work or buy an induction plate. I haven’t tried the magnet test, I don’t need to because it works on mine.2: Does it leak? Nope.3: Does hot water / coffee collect in the handle? Nope and I’m not sure where it would.3a: Does it do any of the other weird things that people have experienced? Nope. If you don’t know how to use a Moka pot, check google ond YouTube. Or even go freestyle and read the damn instructions.........4: How much coffee does it make? It makes exactly 2 cups of espresso. If you look in the picture you’ll see the size of an espresso cup compared to an egg cup. They are small cups. If in doubt, ask your local coffee shop to make you a single shot espresso.5: Does it make good coffee? That’s a personal question because the answer is a question - Do I make good coffee? There are many variables in coffee making. Feel free to google “how to make the perfect espresso” and be prepared to lose days of your life. Or find a good barista in your local coffee shop and ask them, or just go and experiment

Venus 2 cup is absolutely the best camping gadget I have.
As someone who loves a coffee 1st thing and cant abide instant, I have tried many different ways of getting a good cup whilst camping with mixed results. I have the 10 cup version of this and noticed there was this little two cup model, so checking the volume of the water it fitted the bill. I was a bit worried about using it on a harsh camping stove, so tried with the reducer ring and was exceptionally happy with the results! It also works perfectly on my induction hob which is great. I slightly over fill it (just covering the safety valve) and it makes just the right amount at about 2/3rds of a small 220ml stainless mug.

Happy buyer.
Bought this a few months ago after replacing a cheap broken aluminium one I bought in Spain and have to say I quite like it. I have been using it every day and it has (so far and touch wood) lived up to the job well. The only thing that put me off initially was that the top and bottom don't seem to close like the picture, although others on here said that appear to be normal. However, this has not caused any issues and it seems to work fine. Can't complain for less than £20, especially when I was looking at one around the £40 mark initially. Glad I got this one. A metal heat resistant handle would be nice (not much problem with this, but just need to be careful), but I guess that is what you pay the extra for...

2 cup version not for induction.
It’s fine but... the online description didn’t say that the 2 cup version doesn’t work on induction hobs. That only comes in the small print with the product. So the product is fine as long as you don’t mind the description being inadequate.

Works perfectly well on an induction hob! Very stylish too.
I love the style and it makes excellent espresso! Very easy to use and clean. Most importantly it works well on an induction job! I was concerned that it was too small for even the small pan area of the job, but it was fine. Make sure that it’s screwed together snugly (I was afraid to over tighten it!) or water and steam will escape from the join. The steel is discolouring slightly at the base but I don’t think it’s a problem. Very pleased with this product. Will probably order the largest one now, for entertaining.

Excellent coffee maker
I really like this coffee maker. I bought the 2, 4 and 6 cup to replace my old traditional aluminium Bialetti cafetières, which don't work on our new induction hob. Some reviews that they don't work on induction hobs, but I took a chance and bought the 4 cup one. I tried it on my induction hob with no success, as the hob decided it wasn't big enough. I was about to send it back when I decided to try it on the smallest hob, and it worked there. Hurray!! I then bought the 6 cup and 2 cup, although I wasn't very hopeful that the 2 cup would work, as it is actually quite small, but it works too! For your reference, my induction hob is an AEG IKE84441FB. The cafetière is definitely made of stainless steel and makes an excellent coffee. Just make sure you don't overfill it with water. Follow the instructions and fill with water up to the valve. Like with all Moka cafetières make sure you brew the coffee at a low heat to get more strength and flavor. It's easy to clean and always shiny. So, the final verdict is: definitely an excellent and stylish machine that makes a lovely Italian coffee, but it might not work on all induction hobs. ☕🙂

Careful! 2 Cup version does not work on induction!
I ordered the 2 cup option for my new flat which has an induction hob. It clearly says here on the Amazon page that the 2 cup version also works on induction, however this is not the case! It even says on the original packaging from Bialetti that only the 4 cup and 6 cup version function on induction. Total waste of my time.
