Design Toscano WU68709 Twinkle Toes Fairy Garden Statue, 13 Inch, Ancient Ivory

This statue is well proportioned and detailed ... from the fairy’s long tresses to the folds of her dress, from the beautifully expressive face to the playful butterfly on her feet. Her overall resemblance to my late wife’s face and form evokes a feeling of tenderness every time I look at her. She sits by a stone fountain with her feet barely touching the water.I intend painting this statue to add soft color to the surroundings. I wish though it was made not in China but US. Where have all our sculptors disappeared ? It is a pity that anything we like has a stamp of another country !As a work of art this statue is excellent.

We use the statue in our garden and place it in the soil between flower groupings. It is a lovely piece and attracts attention. However, we feel that the design of the product is inappropriate to the thinness of the materials used which caused our statue to break prematurely. The wings on this statue are too large and too heavy for the thin walled and hollow design of the statue itself. The wings are like a sail on a boat. So, when a gust of wind caused the statue to topple on its side, a wing broke off the statue leaving a large hole in its side. Because our return date had expired, Amazon suggested that we contact the manufacturer "Design Toscano". When we did, Toscano told us that since we bought the product from Amazon and were not their direct customer there was nothing they would do for us. As a result we now have thrown away an item that we liked very much and cost us over $100.00. We are so disappointed. Please consider this if you are thinking of buying this particular design.

She came packaged up nicely! Wings were separate but in same package. They just screw in and very nicely designed way. I bought this for my daughters garden in her new home and she just loved it! She’s a great size! The detail is beautiful!!! Just what I wanted!!

I got this fairy for myself for Mother's Day, and it is just beautiful! Sizing as described, and as you can see, the pictures show the great detail of the statue...it is so well done! She is very well balanced, as the base she is sitting on has just enough weight to it to make sure she does not tip over...perfect! I now have her out in my gardens, and I can't stop looking at her when I go by! I could not be more pleased with this...worth the higher price than some other outdoor statues!

This fairy is quite large and HOLLOW. The base is insufficiently weighted. It needs to be heavier. she doesn't fall over immediately but she's easily knocked over, especially by small animals in the yard. Also, important to pay attention to the direction of her reach...which is, as pictured, using her LEFT hand. I didn't. I intended her for the waterfall of my pond .. but reach is in the wrong direction.Update 2022...Very important to note, her wings are not a formed part of her body. They are a single separate piece and slide onto a thin bar on her back. This makes them both unstable (wobbly) and VERY fragile. They've broken twice so far. The first time was a clean break I was able to glue back together but this second time, the bar has broken off her back leaving a gaping hole where the slide bar used to be. Purchased in 2019 for $81...now listed at $126....NOT worth it!

I have just now received my order from Amazon for this great garden Fairy.First impressions: Well for starters this statuette is pretty hefty for it's size, which is a plus for me as it should be nice and stable in the garden where its placed. The detail is nothing short of stunning. Right down to the smallest crease in her gown and the intricate detaing of the wings and stone she's sitting on...it's all there. Her face is very attractive; the sculptors did not skimp on detail there. The coloring is as others have indicated as more of a light cocoa tan rather than the lighter ivory as the picture indicates., but with a little statuette as imaculate as she is who cares?! Also the 13-1/2" size is not too large and not too small, but a great mid-size garden statuette.This was a belated father's day present to myself (!) that the family will present to me later :)My perrenial garden already has a couple other fairy's (the "Napco 16-1/2" Green Fairy on Mushroom" also from Amazon) & an older concrete classical style one; this Twinkle Toe one will be right at home and a stand out for sure due to how wonderfully she is renderred...almost looks like she's just begging for moon light so she can go scamerring around the garden, only reluctantly ready to pose for us lowly humans on her rock come first light of day.Packaging was flawless: She came wrapped by Design Toscano in loose plastic and then nestled into a thick custom styrofoam box. That is placed into a taped cardboard box which was placed into ANOTHER cardboard box w/ packaging from Amazon. In other words, everything was intact.Would I recommend: YES!

I received it on time that’s the only good thing. The bird dish or whatever that thing is she’s holding is missing a piece and the broken pieces aren’t in the box so that tells me it was shipped this way. The green part I am supposed to fasten the screw to wasn’t screwed in correctly so I can’t get the wing past it!!!!! I’m afraid to try and fix it myself since it’s fragile. Doubt if I would be buying from this seller or manufacturer again. The number I called that was listed on here for support was for appliances and didn’t have a clue. So I have chipped fairy with 1 wing sitting in my garden.

This is a beautiful piece as are all the ones I ordered. I love the Toscano line. However, the only negative is that sliding the wings on has to be done very carefully. The block on the piece is not reinforced so if you slide it to hard it breaks off. I had my husband glue it so as not to have to return it.

Bought two different models and both have wing assemblies that loosely slot into a body wedged shaped key. The first model perfect as the downwards pressure keeps wings in place, but, this model there is only a slight downwards incline towards the head. So when moving this by my pond lifted head slightly, wings slid off falling the height of the model and breaking the wings. Very poor design and or no assemble hints. Hears one, fit with a small amount of contact adhesive. Sorted

Totally gutted how much I spent on this garden ornament. It is much lighter in colour, whiter and less stone looking. Looks more like a fallen angel to a fairy.mmi would have sent it back if it wasn’t in such a big box. Very light in weight.

She is my most beautiful big garden fairy who lives inside in winter. All my guests love her realism and my neice calls her silvermist and is always touching her. Which is fine as she is solid built and too heavy to be dragged off by a 6 yr old child. She looks dainty but is well crafted and strong. She sits very sturdy and has a nice smooth finish. The solid build means the wings and legs could sustain a few careless knocks.

One of my favourite Toscano pieces, sits by a pool, hand in water. She gets a lot of wonderful comments and I never tire of seeing her. These sculptures are beautifully made and detailed, I especially like the fact they are not coloured, the stone look is so natural and fitting in the garden.

Great detail and a good size. She gets many compliments from our friends. Sits relaxing by the waterfall and quite heavy, well worth what I paid. ** Update 2 years on and she looks as beautiful, the 3rd photo shows her now 2020, she over winters in the greenhouse. Best ornament I have bought, by far
