Awesome Chair!
I want to start off by saying i'm 5'7 and 150 lbs. I know people come in all shapes and sizes so this review wont apply to everyone! When I first saw this chair, my main concern was the it being fully mesh because mesh seats tend to be a little more firm. I usually gravitate towards cushion for comfortablitly. The mesh is very flexibile and gives a good balance of firmness for support, and cushion for comfort. Because im on the smaller side im able to get away with changing my seating positions. I sometimes sit indian style, with one leg up and even one tucked under me. (I would only advise doing this if you have pants and socks on because mesh is rough on the skin.) The seat itself id rate a 8/10 for comfort. The back of the chair stole the show for me! when I lean back, all of my fatigue in my back instantly disappears! I usually lean back slightly to reduce strain on my back and get the benefits of the mesh support. The back of the chair feels like its adjusting to my back to give the support that I need. It almost feels like the chair is customized for me. I'd give the back a 9.5/10. The customization is pretty limited on the chair but its minimalistic approach makes it look sleek. Would I like more customization? Yes. Would I look at other chairs because of it? No. Its lean back function is nice though. The arms on my chair are good, but I wouldn't say they are the most comfortable arms I have ever used. The adjustability on them is kind of disappointing but they get the job done. Id say adjustability is a 5/10. The chairs comfortability warrents the 5 star rating.

Terrible for many people; can do much better for price
I gave this 2 stars because I’m sure this does work well for some people. But the lack of adjustments (especially for the back) is unforgivable at this price. They claim it adjusts “automatically,” but this is absurd given that adults can easily be a foot apart height-wise.Many complaints about these at the office where they are the only option for an ergonomic chair. For me personally this chair is truly miserable. It forces me to sit in uncomfortable ways. For this price you should look at the Steelcase Leap (you can get one with a headrest of you want), the Herman Miller Embody or Aeron, or maybe even the Humanscale Freedom, though once again with the Freedom it’s less adjustable.

Flawed Armrest Design-Poor Customer Service
I purchased a Humanscale Diffrient World from another vendor, but am posting the review here as it is for the chair not the vendor. Hope my review helps anyone considering this chair- and wish I had found these Amazon reviews and information before my purchase in 2012. To begin with- this chair is not that comfortable for sitting long periods of time. I work on projects that require intensive periods of sitting at my desk. Since buying this chair I have had episodes of low back pain and it is because the chair seat allows slipping forward to the point where you lose the s curve and are "hunched". Not a problem for short time use- but my previous 20+ year old desk chair was so much more comfortable for long sessions. BUT my complaint is the poorly designed armrests which actually BREAK off. I am a small woman, less than half the 300# rating of this chair, so can't understand how it is not strong enough to support the weight of leaning on one side- as I was turning from one worktable to another table to my left- CRACK the upper of the two bolts holding the left armrest popped out. I contacted the vendor- who was quick and apologetic, and forwarded my complaint and photos to Humanscale. I assumed I would be receiving a new chair- NO-after some back and forth I received two replacement arms, no replacement bolts, and no instructions how to replace. Looking online I found the instructions for recycling the chair, which provided me with the # of special hex screwdriver required. Ordered screwdriver $10-from Amazon and proceeded to install the new left arm, which requires the BACK of the chair to be removed to properly angle the screwdriver. When I removed it became clear that the frame into which the arm attaches was also damaged-as is shown in the photos I sent to Humanscale. Now the right arm is starting to wobble in its mount as well. So- I have to be super cautious not to put too much pressure on the arms, and they have to be set at the lowest position so no longer adjustable. I would have though a 15 year warranty would have meant if the chair BREAKS and cannot be used fully- I receive a new one, but NO...so what is the use of a warranty? The chair does NOT function as advertised-I DO NOT recommend-

DON"T Waste Your Money!!! The chair has virtually no adjustment.
I said 5 Stars because I wanted to make sure people knew just how big a piece of junk this really is!Please, don't buy it!There is no way to lock the back tilt, it's always pushing forward. Can't adjust the lumbar, it only adjusts up or down not in or out. It's almost as if the chair was designed for tiny women, and they'll hate it too.Because the back won't lock and the lumbar is constantly pushing forward, you're always sliding forward and downward out of the chair.I'm not all that big, but there is a full hand between my legs and the seat pan, and there's no way to slide back for lack of lumbar adjustment. The right arm rest literally snapped off after a month of use, so when I get a replacement part, I'm dumping the chair!I've gotten better chairs for under a hundred bucks at local office supply stores.Thank God I bought refurbished, and still it cost over $500.0.Over priced crap!
