Ehh.
It was very interesting hearing from Fatima and you get a little more insight into her and Shazaman's story and why they did the things they did. You get a little more understanding of them but this was not my favorite volume. I just think if those two had made different choices, they would've been more happier instead of going after Sharyrar the way they did-I actually think the father was the real bad guy since he was both Shazaman's and Fatima's target. Still, I didn't like it. Regardless of why they did it, what they did was still awful (to Sharyrar at least).

Many Players on the Field
In an effort to save his sultan, Sehara offered to accompany MacLeod. His willing departure leaves everybody in the palace—Shahryar, Jafar, Maseru, Dunya and Ali—shocked. But it is Shahryar who is the most affected. The storyline moves on multiple layers as the key players are separated and attempt to sort out matters in their own way. Warfare, shifting loyalties, accusations of madness, revenge, betrayal and supernatural visitations come into play. The mysterious wraith that is Fatima finally has her history revealed, one that explains her almost magical power over three very different men. Just as with life, this saga becomes ever more complex. But the writer never overwhelms the reader with too much at once. We are allowed just enough information to keep us riveted and coming back for more.

I hate this volume.
I don't like Shahryar's brother OR Fatima and almost the entire volume was about them. So yeah, I hated it thus the two stars. If you do like that pairing or are interested in their history, this volume would be a good buy. I wish I had skipped over it though.
