Only use CatEye iPhone app.

It works well if and ONLY IF you use the CatEye app... I was using wahoo fitness application with the wahoo fitness cadence sensor. The iPhone 6 could only recognize one of the sensors using this app.I downloaded and switched over to the CatEye app and it is recognizing both sensors. Wish VeloComputer would reach out to Wahoo but FWIW, this will do.Would be 5 stars if it would work with wahoo.

Excellent sensor. Upgradable firmware (has ant+ only or ant+/ble connectivity), can be a cadence or speed meter. Easily attacheable anywhere.The only thing i would improve is the rubber enclosure - sometimes i am not 100% confident it would hold. But havent lost it yet.

Essentially a non-functional product at this time

I have only tried this device pairing with my iPhone 6, and not the ANT+ capabilities. Overall the device is not ready for primetime, there are significant issues with (presumably) the firmware that make it essentially non-functional.Firstly, when it works, it works. I'll admit that. I've tried it as both a cadence device and a speed device, and when it actually pairs with your phone and operates, it works and reads out.However, getting it to pair is an exercise in frustration, as often the only way it seems to get it to turn on is to manhandle it in some way, simplying spinning the wheel/crank wasn't enough. I ended up usually pulling the sensor from the bike and sometimes having to pull the battery to get it to work. This makes the device a bit of a non-starter. Every other sensor I own (all Wahoo products) simply power up upon bike motion and connect.Second issue is that the firmware update process is a bit clunky, needing 3rd party software and downloading files to your phone. It seems that the developer primarily supports Android, hence the need for a third party app to update the firmware. It's not too hard to use, but not exactly "user friendly".Third and most bizarre issue is that the device does not work in presence of Wahoo sensors. I have a Wahoo cadence sensor, and as soon as the it powered up, the Velocomputer stopped working. Really odd, but I note that another reviewer sees the same thing.Right now I'm torn between returning this thing, and keeping it and hoping for some future update that fixes the issues. However, until then I wouldn't advise that others purchase this, unless you're willing to be a beta tester for this company.It's a real shame, because AFAIK it's the only hub based speed sensor on the market that supports BLE.UPDATE: Wahoo now make a BLE hub based speed sensor and it works great. Buy that.

Great idea but not yet ready for prime time.

This is a great idea but not yet ready for prime time. There are two significant problems with this product.I'm an electrical engineer. I understand this sort of product and I had no issues configuring it with the Nordic Semiconductor app that is used to talk to the base part in the device. While it is a little geeky and the directions are not particularly clear, I was able to do this. It's probably going to be an issue for non-technical consumers.I was attempting to use in two different applications: With a Garmine Edge 1000 using ANT+ mode and with the Wahoo Fitness RFLKT+ to the iPhone app Cyclemeter using BT LE on an iPhone 6. I was intermittently able to get the Edge to work but there seemed to be problems with the ANT+ address conflicting and in resetting the device.In Bluetooth, I had issues with it conflicting with the BT ID of other devices. Specifically, it would conflict with the Wahoo Fitness RPM in Cyclemeter. I was not able to determine if this was Cyclemeter, this device or Wahoo Fitness. It also seemed to have problems in ANT+ mode through the Wahoo Fitness RFLKT+ operating as an ANT+ bridge to Cyclemeter through Bluetooth. Garmin ANT+ sensors worked just fine.In one case, I was able to get it to operate for about 15 minutes, then is started to produce random (apparently) data on the Edge in ANT+ mode.The final problem, and one that is mechanical, is that the rubber band mount is pretty fragile. I had purchased two of these devices and one of the mounts tore very easily when trying to put it on. There needs to be a provision to zip tie these sensors in place. I kept the one unit that I broke the mount on and returned the other.I really wanted this to work so that I could have one sensor that could be used in multiple applications on our bikes. I hate the magnet based sensors and am actively replacing them. My hope was that this would work well with the software and devices indicated so I could do just that. Actual practice was not so great. I'm hoping this developer gets this toned up and the iPhone support in place better. Right now, it's a bit of a science project and communication for support is hit and miss.

Love it!

Amazing precision. Just move the wheel slightly and it shows distance, literally in inches.Really simple installation. Simply snap over and go.I uploaded new firmware on the sensor as per instructions on their website - velocomputer.com and tried standard CSC profile on my iPhone. Both speed and cadence work with CatEye app. Wahoo connects only to one sensor at a time. It seems they support only one sensor with combo profile.Then I installed Velocomputer app on my second phone Samsung S5 with Android and downloaded their high precision profile - REV (stands for REVolution). This gave me distance tracking in inches. The sensor seemed more responsive. Very short lag time. Less than a second.I also connected it to my Garmin watch in parallel to the app. Works fine. The numbers on Garmin are about 1 second behind otherwise they are the same.Overall excellent device. Highly recommend.
