Yamaha YAS-109 120 Watt Wireless Bluetooth Soundbar with Alexa (Black)

The sound quality is incredible for its size and this is the best budget option available. I visited several physical stores , but none of the brands withing this price can march the clarity this offers. It supports Dolby, has Bluetooth, and the app is user-friendly. I particularly like that it doesn't come with an additional subwoofer, which can become a hassle over time. Yamaha's build quality is outstanding, much better than pricier brands in the same range. I'm really satisfied with it. While many Indians prefer heavy bass, this system focuses on delivering high-quality, natural sound without artificial enhancements. It's perfect for watching OTT content, and Bluetooth pairing is seamless.

Removed 1 star due to pathetic delivery. My order got delayed by one day and I had to travel 2 KM to finally pick it up from the delivery person.After a month of research and going through lot of reviews I finally had nailed down to 3 options for decent sound system for my mid size hall. Sony HTS350, LG SL6Y and Yamaha 109.LG SL6Y was scrapped as its size is pretty big for my 43" LG TV.Sony HTS350 was scrapped as it had some connectivity issues with wirless sub as per reviews and I was looking for a compact system with built in sub.Here are my thoughts after 1 week of heavy usage.* Packaging: Was nicely packed and I was pleasantly surprised to see it's Made in Vietnam! and not a Chinese product.* Product and Accessories: Product is nice and compact with about 3 KG weight. Has cloth cover to enhance sound output.Remote is sleek and has coin battery so it will last much more compared to AA/AAA batteries.Came with TOSLINK cable but I had already bought Amazon basics optical cable earlier so I am using it with that only.Note: My TV doesnt support HDMI ARC but the quality with optical cable is still on par.There was warranty card and other product info material.* Setup: It was quick and easy, connected to my wifi and downloaded the Yamaha App for setup. Was up and running in 10 mins.I read lot of complaints from users that the App is no good. But actually I found it quite simple and easy to use. Works great with wifi and easy to control and view the settings as this bar doesn't come with Display feature.* Sound and Other features: Coming to the most important aspect of Sound quality. What can I say? Its simply mind blowing.I can now hear so many details which I missed earlier in Songs/Movies etc. The in built woofers add enough punch for the BASS.There is Bass Boost option if you want to have more Thumping BASS. Unless you want to break the glass windows and disturb your neighbours the BASS is sufficient for even mid size hall. Moreover, there is sub out so you can add subwoofer if you still wish in future.The sound output improved after 2 days as the drivers got burned. Here are some modes which I tested so far:1) CLEAR VOICE: This is my fav mode, the vocals sound so cool with this mode turned ON even when listening to deep music. It comes very handy while watching movies at night. Don't get me wrong, this doesnt overpower the background music or BASS effects but simply adds more punch to vocals which makes it look like a magic.2) Movie: This will give you Theater feeling when watching movies. I watched ICE AGE, Saving Private Ryan with this mode and my hall and next room was litearally shaking with Bomb explosions, Glacier falls in these movies. I could feel the thump while sitting on Sofa about 10 feet away.3) Music and STEREO: I use both these modes while listening to songs and music. Sometimes I feel the STERO mode gives better output on some tracks compared to Music mode. I really went into Niravana when playing songs on this beauty.4) TV: Good while watching news and serials.5) 3D surround: This is hit and miss, works great in some movies to create virtual surround effect with its Virtual X technology.* Alexa: This bar works great with Alexa control. I can give voice commands to change mode, lower volume, mute, change Radio stations, switch input modes and it works without any hiccups. You need to have good wifi connectivity to make best use of this feature.Alexa now has support for Indian accent and it has added Hindi also. :) Overall 5 stars for Alexa, even though I didnt buy this bar only for Alexa control, its still a nice addition.The bar works fine with Spotify app and sound quality is good.The wifi and bluetooth connectivity and quality is also top notch.Overall, am very happy with this Japanese trusted brand and glad that I made a right decision. This is one of the top option if your budget is less than 20K. (I got it for 19.9k during prime day sale).* One important thing I want to mention is as the speaker grill is covered with cloth, it attracts lot of dust and you will need to clean it frequently. While cleaning, don't use random cloths. Use microfiber cloth or Lint roller else it will damage the delicate drivers in side. You can also use a soft brush to gently clean this bar.Don't go with negative reviews, just go ahead and buy this if you want a nice compact sound bar for your home.

Don't buy this if you need an audiophile or surround sound experience. Go check out Sennheiser ambeo or invest in a proper AV setup or something. Buy this only if your TV audio is very poor and dialogues are hard to follow and music is tinny and you need a better TV watching experience . This speaker brings that clarity and depth. It has very good sound stage and clarity for watching/listening from ~8-10 ft away. The speakers fire upwards when placed on the stand. That tends to steal away some of the mids and highs depending on the accoustics of your room leaving the bass to be a little over-emphasized. If you can mount the soundbar on the wall, then the speakers would fire facing the audience. Maybe that would further enhance the clarity. I find the speaker produces best output in my room with the bass set to very low (-3) to compensate for the loss of mids and highs from the high ceiling at my home. The bass is tight at -3 and the mids and highs are felt better. Adding the voice clarity mode for sure improves the audio quality be it for dialogues or music. Note that this is all relative to the TV's output. Don't expect a HiFi AV receiver level output. This is more than adequate for casual TV watching with a more than decent sound ouput.The bluetooth and wifi connectivities are solid. Make sure to use a modern HDMI cable. I struggled a while with ARC not working after using an old HDMI cable from my stock. Using a more modern cable fixed the problem in a jiffy. Easy to recommend for anyone looking for better sound quality from your TV

One of the finest product you can get at this price range. I know there are a lot other alternates available in the market and I was comparing mostly with Bose solo 5 / Sony HT-X8500. I also had Polk Audio Signa S2 in mind but didn't go for it because it had an additional sub. My requirement was compact single machine which can fit anywhere. And believe me, Yamaha yas 109 does the work perfectly. The design is awesome and sits comfortably in front of the TV without blocking any view.Coming to the sound clarity, it is very clear and punchy. The best thing is that its not loud like the cheap soundbars from other brands such as boat. The movie experience is pretty awesome since subs are also integrated (60W). I am using it in my bedroom, so enough for me but you may need additional sub for a bigger room. I didn't find the 3d surround sound to be super useful and need more time to get into that.Best features:- Alexa Built-in. Works like a charm even if I whisper.- clear voice for enhanced dialogue clarity.- Built-in sub-woofer.- It also comes with an option to connect additional sub-woofer.- Additional HDMI-IN that you won't find in any other soundbar.- Unique design and blends perfectly.- Best remote with all functionality available.Cons:- No treble control option.
