worst hiking socks I have ever bought
The photo says these socks are size 10-13, which is equivalent to men's shoe sizes 6-12. I wear shoe size 9 and these socks are too big. Not form fitting at all like all the other hiking socks that I own. Loose socks tend to bunch up and cause blisters, which is terrible if you're hiking.Don't believe the people who are comparing these socks to $20 hiking socks. Fancy socks have contoured multi-density construction to cradle your feet inside your hiking boots. These things have a very simple and boxy construction. The 4 pairs-for-$10 wool hiking socks from Costco are tremendously better quality than these. These socks are advertised as heavyweight thermal, but they are not that heavy and are made from polyester, not wool. If you're looking for cheap polyester athletic socks, I recommend the socks from Adidas, Puma, or Reebok that Amazon sells in 6-packs for $15 to $20. Those are much better quality than these.I'm giving these 2 stars because they were less than $1 per pair when I bought them, but now that the price has increased, I am very tempted to drop that the rating to 1 star.

Heavyweight is a bit of a stretch with these socks(and so is the fit) as they are really no thicker than your average tube-sock. At first I thought I could still make the most of them by using them as liners for my truely heavyweight wool socks, but after wearing them for a while, I noticed as I was taking them off that they had somewhat dissolved and stuck to my foot in large patches of material(this did not cease even after several rounds through the washer/dryer) which needed to be brushed off.I imagine if you live in a very dry state and don't sweat much, the dissolving issue could be avoided, but even then these socks just aren't warm enough to warrant their use beyond a chilly spring day.

Just don't buy.
These socks are just awful. They are soft to the touch, which is nice, but as soon as they are on, they stretch out. There is very little spandex/lycra/whatever to keep these socks up or even on. Taking a boot or shoes off leaves the socks floppy and stretched out. They are not warm, they are not heavy weight, they are not thermal, they are just plain awful for anything involving any sort of movement.

Great socks! Perhaps 2 bundles would've been the way to go!
This evening, my feet were chilled to the bone. I put one sock on (right foot) and waited about 5 seconds - I could already feel that my foot felt warmer. So, I put the other sock on - funny how that works, eh?It has been 10 minutes and my feet are comfortably warm - not baking, not overly hot - and the socks themselves breathe very well! I am absolutely thrilled with these socks! They do not 'cling' to my feet at all, which is a definite plus! And they're also quite comfortable with noticeable cushion across the entire bottom of the foot.I'll be wearing a pair of these socks all day tomorrow for work, just to see how they do with a 10 hour test - and I will report back afterward.

Not a proper hiking sock and way TOO BIG.
WAY too big. I wear a size 10 shoe (men's) and these were NOT a good fit. Also, while these are thicker than cotton socks, they aren't a good fit for hiking. There's no compression to them and no padding where true hiking socks have it. Legitimate hiking socks have internal "pile" or fluff at the heel and toes to add cushioning. These are the same thickness throughout.

Too big
I know these are inexpensive socks so I didn't expect a lot. But these still came up short. I've never had a baggy pair of socks before. These are just too big all the way around. They bunch up on the foot and fall down and just are not comfortable. I can't even wear them around the house because they fit so sloppy. My advice is to spend more on your socks. I finally did and am very happy I did.

These Are Neither Thermal Socks, Nor Good Regular Socks
These are not thermal socks, they are just long socks. Not particularly thick and not very warm. Also, the elastic in the calf fails to keep the socks up after wearing them for about 1-2 hours. Would not buy again. Intend to use these as rags, since they are no good as socks.
