I think it is overpriced for what it is

It's of good enough quality construction and works as it should, but I have the same issue with this adapter as many other of the "GoPro" compatible accessories. The tightening knob is too small, you can't get enough torque on it with your fingers to get super tight. If I'm on the motorcycle or any other vehicle that has a high degree of vibration I use the RAM mounts instead of the "GoPro" type because they are just far more substantial than the plastic mounting hardware that comes with any of the action cameras. The small knob is a weak link unless you use a set of pliers, screwdriver or a custom wrench you can buy to make it as tight as possible. I really don't want to carry and have to keep up with any extra tools or parts while on the road if it can be avoided. Make the knob bigger or have it flip out or something so it can be tightened down more securely without the use of a tool. I would recommend this product, the knob issue is not unique to it and it does work well in it's native form.

Coupled with the RAM mount for motorbike with the universally adjustable arm this provides an ideal footing for my GoPro or the phone via interchangeable components. Much better than a helmet mount and of course infinitely adjustable.

This is very strong caution warning on a product. Be very careful with RAM mounts. They are arguably the most expensive mount systems available but poor design has cost me a $199.00 Feiyu G5 Gimbal and a $399.00 GoPro Hero 6. I was using their ball mount system in conjunction with a GoPro brand handlebar mount when the RAM buckle unexpectedly let go sending, gimbal, mount and GoPro to the pavement hard.The problem is with the design and material used in the buckle clip. The tabs that clip into the base have too much flex and they are too thin. After the incident I tested the buckle and when clipped in solidly, it can be pulled out of the base with VERY little effort. This is in contrast to the GoPro buckle which has a failsafe tab to keep the buckle secure in the base. I have to stress that no part of the RAM mount actually broke, but it did fail to do what it should have done. I must note that I have used all kinds of other mounts for a similar set-up of camera and gimbal and have never had a failure. But I thought this time I would treat myself and upgrade to a “better name” product. I’m so sorry I did.Of course, after contacting the company, I was told they could do nothing (their warranty offers specific disclaimer for damage to equipment other than their mounts). They tried to tell me that overloading the mount was the cause of the failure, but my gimbal and camera total less than a pound. They also tried to tell me that the weight of my rig had bent the ¼ inch thread at the top of mount when it was, of course, the impact that did the bending. Their offer was to send me another mount of my choice. Nope, I won’t be trusting anything from this company again.When using RAM mounts exercise extreme caution.

I bought this to attach a GoPro to a go kart using a short ram mount arm. This piece broke off leaving my camera bouncing down the track.

Enables a clean mount with ram extension, perfect.

use this on my kayak for a gopro mounted camera. Very sturdy and adjusts easily.
