MOTU, a good product
I will address other complaints. If you have a hum noise, it's you PC or tablet's power supply, I figured that out by changing power supply, This unit isn't intended to power passive speakers, hello! Internet browser issues are caused by your PC's settings ie 44k and 48k. I have found keeping you PC in 48k works best. Yes you may have some issues with Lynicks (spell) drivers, this unit works best PC and mac. I also would suggest a high quality usb-c cord there's a difference. Pops and crackles are due to you setting a low sample rate and you computer not having enough power to accommodate especially if you are throwing a lot at the unit and computer and you computer can't keep up, try 192 or higher sample rate you should be good. You must understand, this is also a $200 unit, and you ARE getting a product that WILL do the job, I've been using it live for triggering keyboard samples and I don't have any problems. I've made so very nice recording productions no problem also, but on that note, they will only turn out good if you know what your doing. Your DAW software also plays an important part of the process.I am not affiliated with MOTU, I've been a user of their products for over 20 years, they work as intended, and this model has the update DA converter, and updated driver. My mk3 ultra lite took a dump after many years of being on a abusive road. This was the perfect replacement for my needs, and I use it for recording as well. Hope all this helped. Some complaints on here were from a lack of knowledge of what and how this unit works. It's a great unit, especially at this price point. If you're buying this, then you probably don't have a 10's of thousands of dollars recording studio and you wouldn't be posting on here.Bottom line, great unit.

The only thing that checked all of the boxes
I am not using this product to record anything. I am using it purely for PC gaming/Music listening. This was the only thing I could find that met all my requirements, listed below:1. Ability to drive 250ohm headphones2. Has direct (latency free) mic monitoring (I like to be able to hear myself)3. Makes me not sound like a robotI tried lots of "gaming dac/amps" before this. None of them could meet all of the requirements listed above. I looked into the Scarlet, but it couldn't drive my headphones. I looked into separate dacs and amps, but they didn't have a mic port, or didn't have monitoring, or didn't have latency-free monitoring. This thing works marvelously. I can hear all of my PC audio, communicate clearly with friends in discord, and hear myself at the same time. It's also nice to have my speakers plugged in as well, for when I don't want to use a headset. The reason I couldn't just the use the plugs on my PC was because they were picking up interference from my graphics card. This solves that issue.I am using this with DT990 Pro's and a modmic (to use a mod mic you will need an XLR adapter to step down the phantom power). But I like that I now have the ability to use a more fancy XLR mic if I ever want to. Also, you may want to use some EQ software to get the sound where you want it. But once you get everything where you like it, man it just works perfectly.Buy it!

Love it so far!
I replaced an aging Steinburg UR22 with the Motu MR 22. Both used for commercial audio for Radio/TV/Digital ads and content. Overall end result…cleaner voice recordings, better mic sound, and I love having VU meters on the unit.Very pleased with overall build quality and performance! Now we’ll see how it holds up!

The SOLVER!
6/2/24This was EXACTLY what I needed to capture the sound as a re-direct going into Zoom (and other programs requiring input) that supports the use of a USB-C connection to my Mac. I appreciate the dual input options and the visual monitor coupled with the headphone output to further monitor sound.I coupled this with the COMICA lapel mics for stereo capture to have better control over sound.I am totally pleased. :-)

Best audio interface for the price
I’m sure there are more expensive audio interfaces with less latency, but this one has just a tiny bit of latency compared to the Sonos I had been using, and the price is right.

Surprisingly Competent
Got this product to function for both XLR Mic input, and to use as a DAC for an amplifier, and both work with no hiccups at all. Even if you didn't have a proper headphone amp, you could substitute it (atleast temporarily) with the headphone output on this thing. The screen looks pretty good but could use some dB numbers on it to get some actual data from. The Generic output on my computer actually uses both line in ports in their own respective stereo channel which doesnt really fit my needs as of now, and I dont really want to use the other outputs it gives in my computer, so I simply used a vst (A1 Stereo Control by Alex Hilton) to downmix both channels into what is functionally mono but in stereo. Software is pretty simple with a few check boxes for settings and the only real "fine tuning" you can do being changing the sample rate and buffer sizes, though the settings out of the gate work fine as is. One oversight would be the lack of a mute button for line in. You could just get an external xlr mute switch but like, why? It is more of a general audio interface problem that I wish the industry would just quit. Other than that, I highly recommend the Motu M2!

Very nice
I've been using this for a little over one week and it's a very nice piece of gear. My old Tascam interface was very unstable since new and after eight years fried itself. This MOTU replacement is easier to use and, so far, more dependable - the ASIO driver is more stable than Tascam's.I haven't used the free XLR-XLR cable that was included in the package, nor have I used any of the included audio software. I'm using Reaper.

Works great, sounds great
I replaced a dead 5 yo Scarlett 4i4 with the Motu M2. Had everything I need. 2 line/mic ins, 2 balanced outs, MIDI in/out, individual switchable phantom power per input, 1/4 inch headphone. Sound quality is great, in and out.
