So the metal case itself works great and does it’s job well. But when using the case in certain circumstances, the case allows the camera modules to ‘wiggle’ apart.The case provide very little support in ‘pushing’ all of the modules together, and when the camera is being shaken or vibrates rapidly, the camera will stop recording and states an issues with the connectors.I was using the camera and case In a pretty unique location on my racing kart that would cause lots of vibration to the camera and cause this problem with this case.I did not have this problem with the original case the camera comes with.But, the original case did snap off when used in this location, while going 65+ mph. This metal case held strong in this situation.Another issue is the screw that hinges the metal back door came loose on me, and got lost while recording (probably also due to the location I had the camera mounted) and meant the back door was loose. The locking hinge did a good job of keeping the door in the case, but it was loose.These are pretty specific problems that are probably attributed to pretty extreme action recording, so this most likely won’t be a issue for less intense recording situations. Having said this, I’m not sure what the need for a protective metal camera case is if you won’t be using the camera in situations that may risk the camera being dropped and damaged.I would recommend making sure the screws and bolts are all tight on the case before using it, and maybe even use some lock tight on them, as some other screws also came loose on me.But, making sure these screws won’t come loose is a minor issue if the case doesn’t allow the camera modules to stay connected, and not record any footage.This is why I gave a 2 star review, because while the case did work, it didn’t allow the camera to perform the task it was made to do. And while the case was falling apart due to loose screws, this could be due to the location the camera case was mounted. But my previous recommendations still stand.

I loved the sturdiness of the product and the better protection. Unfortunately, this still requires the removal of the front lens cover on the 1 inch mod to get it in and out of the case. That is a pain. The SmallRig case is a better solution for people with the 1 inch mod, in my opinion.

The cage feels well built and the camera fits snuggly, however it should be noted that the cage is not compatible with the 360 lens guards and filters meaning you are buying a sturdier cage but you can’t protect your lenses?? That seems like a massive over site!

Buyer be warmed, it will not work with the insta360 one r protective lenses for the 360 camera.

The case is perfect. Some say it is disappointing because it is not compatible with the lens covers, yet if you don’t use them, it is simply perfect.Sturdy, easy to open (unlike he one coming with the camera, which is great but complicated to deal with and you may run the risk to scratch the lens), easy to secure on the invisible selfie stick, it has all it takes to be indispensable, including two cold shoes for a microphone and other accessories.Well, well done!

Ok. SO it is 4.5 stars, but I had to give it 5. Nice, tight, waterproof, well made, and light weight for aluminum. Works very well with all lenses, with one exception, they did not provide a connection for the protective lenses. I find it a minor inconvenience, since it came with the a cage and works well. For the bulk of my work 1" mod and 4k mod, this cage is perfect. It is my hope they will upgrade the unit to allow for the protectors. I do like it for the 360 dual lens as the protectors often have some glare outside.
