Ring Alarm Contact Sensor 6-pack (2nd Gen)

The sensors are very easy to connect to your existing Ring system. Gen 2 sensors are much sleeker and smaller than Gen 1 sensors and they work exactly the same. The batteries are the lithium batteries, so my old batteries won't work in the Gen 2 sensors. I'm tempted to replace all of my old sensors but at 20 buck a pop, I'll probably wait.

I acquired these sensors for the extra windows in my home. They were straightforward to install and included a QR code to assist with setup in the Alexa app. I highly recommend them due to their quality, affordability, and ease of installation.

Easy to install and work fine.

The media could not be loaded. If you are like me that rent or move often, please DO NOT remove the double face tape & use the screws that come in the box. I made the mistake in one window on my previous home, but was extremely easy to remove, in the new place I removed the old tape with a small spoon & used the screws. I bought my alarm system that came with 4 of these and needed 4 more, so I bought 2 sets. This was 2 yrs ago and the batteries still work like new. If you leave them behind in the previous home you'll be wasting money plus you need to deregister them from your account as they don't work with other alarms, well last time I checked. Now there is even spacers sold here in case that there is a gap of more than 1" (remember, the sensor will not work if placed more than 1" apart)*Note* for the customer that was inquiring about the approval (sorry I forgot the number) I am attaching the scanned pic of the description paper that comes in the box & a few other pictures.

I really like the 2nd generation sensors because they don't havea big heavy battery that was hard to stay in place with the spring.Update:I also recommend 2nd generation sensors for the design is solid with no problem with installation of the flat battery's.And as of today I have not incounterd any problems with the sensor and I appreciate have the different selection with the sounds you can choose for the sensor when you open the door.

ORIGINAL REVIEW: 1 STARSI like the concept of the Ring app by Atleast 10% of sensors I try to connect fail and I have to reset them and do annoying things. Several times I had to call support. This system has been on the market for a long time. Adding sensors should be flawless at this point and take half the time. Adding one sensor a time on many windows takes hours.UPDATED REVIEW 4 STARS 5/8/24So originally the devices failed constantly. I realized that if your start the sensor installation process and move the sensor a few feet away from your phone and attach it to the door.... even though its 3 feet away the activation process takes forever and it often fails and needs a factory reset. If you keep the sensor a few inches from your phone... its much faster and reliable. After wasting many hours on sensors and devices i finally figured that out. They should put that in the instructions. Also one of my keypads were malfunctioning and i called and they refused to replace it under warranty because apparently my credit card changed and my pro plan subscription lapsed for like a few weeks and that voided my warranty.Ring support saw my frustrated review and reached out to me personally. They replaced my keypad and now my system is functional. I updated review to 4 stars because that support was actually really great. I wish the original support rep would have just swapped the keypad and they should instruct all people activating devices to keep the phone next to them.

Easy to install

The media could not be loaded. I used to use this sensors on many places in my house, for example on doors and windows. When I moved to a bigger house, I needed an extra sensor. It is a small and simple looking product, very compatible with my doors and windows .The packaging is very nice, I am already very satisfied with other products and packaging of the brand.Sensors range is really good, enough for a big house(living in a 7 room house).Price is not too bad if you buy it on sale.Overall I am very satisfied with its performance.The only disadvantage I can say is that the products work with batteries. Sometimes it is not convenient to change the batteries when they run out.

I had new Windows installed and was using previous wired contacts with my ring alarm. Needed to install new ring wireless contacts and they work perfectly. Very easy to set-up but I do wish there was a smaller version available.

Needed an extra sensor, works well. Be sure to change the batteries as and when needed. Connects to WIFI pretty good.

Super easy to add to existing system

It was added to my Ring system without an issue. Ring customer support is great, too, when I need technical help.

I purchased these sensors to add to my security system. Super easy to connect to base station and configure. A bit challenging to mount on an inswing recessed door. I ended up chiseling a small hole in the door jamb to insert the magnet and mounted the sensor portion to the door. For installation on windows, I was able to mount the 2 pieces and right angles to each other and still have reliable pickup/dropout of the contact.
