... review a while back indicating that this was an excellent product.
I wrote a review a while back indicating that this was an excellent product...which it is. I indicated that the caps were made of a clear, hard plastic and broke easily...but still 5 Star. I found that the plastic caps have been improved and are now a soft, opaque plastic, and will not be as easy to crack or chip. Exceptional!

Haven' tried them yet
I bought them to "airlayering" cloning of several rose bushes. I have to take the LARGE and VERY SHARP thorns off first (I will have to use kitchen shears because I lost my hand pruner) I have to get down on my hands and knees on a gravel "lawn" to get at the base of the plantI have several chronic pain problems so I keep putting it off (the cloning) I will use the knives to make circular cut around the base of the rose can, then scrape off the outer green layer of cells on the cane..which requires precisionand a very sharp precise knife. (then slice open a plastic water bottle cover the incised area with rooting powder, fill the plastic water bottle with damp soil, then seal up the bottle with duct tape) When I see that roots have developed from the cane ABOVE the cut area and are developed well enough, I will cut the cane off BELOW the rooted area, seal up the cut cane on the parent plant with glue to keep cane borer moths from infesting the plant) and pot up the rooted cane. It's a very tall cane, without any branches until it's about 4 to 5 feet tall, so if I am successful I will have created a 4 to 5 foot tall rose tree with a single trunk.Wish me luck, it's for a friend of mine who lost his expensive GRAFTED rose tree to CANE BORERS. Well anyway if the air-layering is not a success, I will not blame the knives.(unless they really are awful and then I will complain (ha ha).So there are more uses for "exacto" knives than crafting, sculpting and cutting paper... People have been cloning plants from cuttings for centuries..The cuttings will be genetically identical to the complex hybridization of the parent plant!! Also using a new knife for each plant will prevent the spread of plant viruses and other plant diseases!!**shipment on the order was prompt and I received them in good condition a day earlier than projected.

Not the best quality - Blade falls off frequently
I bought these for students to use for a high school science project, I was going for cheap and quantity rather than quality. The blade is not the best at cutting, and the blade part (that screws in) falls out quite frequently. More often then other cutters of this type. These are okay and kind of work, not the best.

Very Very Nice!!!
I am DELIGHTED with this purchase!!! The box came with 12 X-acto style knives, from what I can tell the quality is rock solid, with a blade and blade protector each. For some reason... getting old, perhaps?... I tend to lose track of where I last used my X-acto knife, and now with 12 more, it will be much easier to put my hands on one the next time I need it! And at just about a buck per knife, what's not to like??? :)
