Q: i am 5'5,will i be able to see my whole body in the mirror?.....how many feet is just the mirror?

It's full body and tilts so yes you will see your outfit head to toe. I'm 5'1 and my son is like 5'10 and both see fine just adjust the tilt.

No, you need no tools to set up.

Q: Is the back of the mirror as ugly as some earlier reviews here are saying?

i'm no judge of beauty or ugliness. i bought the mirror for the use it provided as a mirror. i had never noticed the back. it's fiber board without any visible markings. i have it positioned in such a manner that allows me to look at myself on my way out. most days i look at my forehead which i've had eczema problems with lately. the back is practically against the wall.
