KIZUMONOGATARI: Wound Tale

The language used in this novel is so subtle yet standard. It makes you question whether you're really reading a light novel or a novel. Nishio isin, the author of this novel as well its sequel 'bakemonogatari', is well-known for his standard use of japanese idioms, phrases and allegories, thus making his jokes or gags really tough to translate. But i'm surprised at the level of this translation. Its surprisingly really standard.I brought this novel mainly to read the ending since only the first half of this novel has been made into an anime film. I did not want to buy this at first, since i don't like some of the characters, esp the hero, koyomi araragi, who is like a teenage version of emraan hashmi. Similarly, I dislike hanekawa's character, because she's something like a sati savitri on the outside and a sunny leone on the inside.I liked suruga, ougi, shinobu and senjougahara's (koyomi's yandere girlfriend) character because of their sense of punchline humor. I really liked oshino's character, though he disappeared after the third novel, kuromonogatari.And lastly, I really like amazon for its timely delivery of the novel.

It's so good and is does it job so well in introducing you to the start of the monogatari series once I started reading it I wouldn't stop for hours and honestly was a great experience.Only thing bad was Amazon delivery which give it with a cut on a side

If you're monogatari fan then this is a must buy be it youve watched movie of you haven't watched it. If you haven't tried anime of this then I recommend you do so before deciding to buy this! I will highly recommend buying even as movie is out there since compared to novel there were many minor changes here and there in movie, some scenes were cut short or just removed. Also novel does really great job in telling what mc is actually feeling. Compared to movie I find myself relating to mc more in the novel! If I had to rate novel I will rate 5/5 in comparison movies only take 4/5!

Provides quiet a lot more insight into the mind of Arararagi when compared to the movie.The translation is pretty good too!

You gotta love Araragi's story telling, a perfect blend of action,drama and most of all the amazing comedy.

Finally got my hands on this. This too can be used as a starting point for people who want to start reading the Bakemonogatari franchise. This is the prequel to all the books since this is where the story begins.

A história flui bastante e me deixava curioso pra ler o próximo capítulo . . . Principalmente quando o gancho envolve a Hanekawa rs.Único lado negativo é o capítulo 17 (se não me engano) que fica só o Araragi choramingando por umas 30 páginas até aparecer a Hanekawa…Um marco da literatura contemporânea.

I have already watched the whole série Monogatari, but I decide to go deep into the story, the book is awesome and I looking foward to read much more about Monogatari series.Worth your money

Una pasada de novela recomendada para todos aquellos que quieran leer algo de literatura fantástica en inglés. Sirve de entrada perfecta a la saga, aunque sí ya eres fan de la misma te recomiendo leerla después de Nisemonogatari o incluso después de acabar las novelas correspondientes a la second season. En ese momento podrás apreciar mejor esta novela, cuya traducción por cierto, es mucho mejor de lo esperado. Lamentablemente por cuestiones de tiempo no todas las novelas de la saga están traducidas por la misma persona (Ko Ransom) y hay variaciones en la traducción. Pero suficiente con que nos las traducen y podemos disfrutar de ellas !

Si bien en algunos momentos la narrativa es algo confusa, no deja de ser una excelente pieza de literatura japonesa. El escritor ha logrado crear una épica historia que sienta las bases de su mas grande obra. Sin caer demasiado en el cliché de las historias de vampiros de siempre los personajes son cada uno excelente en lo suyo y la historia en general te mantiene siempre en la expectación del siguiente capitulo. Si son fanaticos de las novelas ligeras, o simplemente estan en busca de una historia ligera e interesante, sin duda Kizumonogatari es una gran opcion.En cuanto a la calidad del libro, la edición es muy buena; las primeras hojas son a color con ilustraciones y la portada tiene un acabado mate con algunos detalles que sobresalen con un poco mas de brillo. El empastado es bueno y no corre riesgo de deshojarse, el margen en las paginas es adecuado así como el tamaño y tipo de letra. La traducción es excelente y la calidad de las hojas también. Una muy buena compra garantizada, llegó el envió a tiempo y en perfecto estado.
