Nice surprise!
Couldn't figure out what to get my 14 y.o who didn't ask Santa for anything and somehow a VR headset popped into my head! He has a phone but not a Samsung or Iphone so I needed a VR headset that would work with multiple cell phones and I came across this one. I read positive reviews, and some not so positive but I figured, for the price, let me give it a try. It was a hit! The entire family has used it and we like it too. It's comfortable and nicely adjust to fit any head, even my 6 y.o can use it. I'm sure there are better ones out there but you'd have to be plugged into a computer or spend over $300. So for the price, I find this to be a perfect VR headset, especially for a first time user who is not picky. :)

Good unit, but may not focus for everyone
This unit does the job, and is certainly a step up from "cardboard." The principle shortcoming is focus:1) I have good eyes but found I had to extend the unit to its limits to obtain good focus. I have an iPhone SE with a plastic cover which may aggravate the issue, and I have my doubts if the phone would work with an Otter-like enclosure. There needs to be a couple more turns of outward travel to be "universal."2) I have two friends that have "monovision," an optical technique for wearers of contact lenses or cataract implants that fools the brain into thinking that both eyes have both near and far vision. The strategy works well, is widespread, and is not going away -- and ruins 3D by placing the focus of each eye at a different distance. These people cannot enjoy 3D movies very well in a theater or on TV without a special contact lens. However, single lens compensation allows them to use better binoculars without a problem. A similar addition to VRidium--an adjustable eyepiece on one side (doesn't matter which) that either changes the distance of the lens to the eye and/or focal length several diopters in both directions--would likely solve the problem, open a new market, and justify VRidium's higher price. Then consider adding color correction filters for color-blind people!

I've never used a headset before so i didn't know what to compare this unit to. I'm using it with a 360fly 4K camera and an iPhone 6s Plus. the image is really fuzzy and motion makes it much worse. it does look a bit better if the camera is stationary, but if you put the camera on a selfie stick and walk around with it, it's pretty rough. kind of like watching a 360p video full screen on a 1080p monitor i guess. my issue is that when i watch my 360fly video on my iPhone and just physically spin around, the image is still really good, but using the same iPhone in this headset was a big disappointment. i mean you can still see the image and maybe for most it would not be an issue, but if i could do it over again, i'd probably spend twice as much to get a better lens. you get what you pay for.

It's one small step up from the cardboard version.
First off, the seller was great. He refunded me money due to the product was about to go on sale and I had paid the higher non-sale price. That being said, my experience with VR headsets is very little. My buddy has the 2nd gen Samsung headset which is mind blowing and I was expecting something similar. This product was garbage compared to the other. It's one small step up from the cardboard version. Field of view was very small, the image looked more 3D then VR. You could also see light bleeding in around your nose. I can't believe how many great reviews it has. Reading the reviews was what convinced me to give it a shot. Oh well, I returned it.

Meets my expectations.
At the time of purchase this headset was about $40, don't know how much it is now as I write this review but I don't think I would have paid any more than that for it. Don't get me wrong, the headset is excellent, it's everything I expected! I love it. But it is what it is, a plastic headset you put a phone into, with some plastic optics. That's it. I saw this going for $80 somewhere. If this is the case just go with a different cheaper headset, I don't see how the others that look almost identical to this one could be any worse or better than the pair listed here. Good buy for $45 or under though. My opinion.

Does the job
I got this on a deal. It is simply a device that contains your iPhone. It is reasonably practical and does the job. I like, but am underwhelmed by the current offerings that take advantage of this 'immersive' technology. That said, it was enough to lose my balance and react to what I saw, rather than what I felt, when riding a virtual roller coaster.

Well worth it.
This is the best deal going if you want to turn your phone into your VR headset. It will not fit with my glasses on, but it's comfy even for long use, and works wonderfully and simply. Components seem durable. I've used it for an hour or so a day most days and it is holding up wonderfully.I'd buy it again.
