Exceeded expectations in every way
I cannot remember the last time I have felt compelled to leave a review, let alone one this positive. Unfortunately, I have yet to receive the phone I will be using this on, but my brother has the same one, so we tried it on his. Luckily, for purposes of this review anyway, my brother also cracked the first of the two screen protectors, which meant we had to use the second already, but that has shown me just how simple the replacement process is.Application:Everything is labeled and the instructions do an amazing job of detailing the purpose for everything in the case. I was not expecting how thoroughly this kit allows you to be when cleaning your screen in preparation for the application of the screen protector. Additionally, the process of placing the protector is made ridiculously easy with the help of the green frame seen in the pictures. You honestly only have to line up one side of the screen protector to the interior of the lining frame and then you just let it drop onto your screen. The best part? Right after the drop, you just press a bit on the center of the protector and you can watch as it satisfyingly adheres to your screen. Now, is it perfect? Nothing is. Let us not fool ourselves. However, with a small plastic card or other, slim item (like a guitar pick), you can lift up the edges and press out any air bubbles that appear. My only suggestion, if I may be so bold, is to include a similar, thin plastic pick or card for that purpose with the pack itself, but there are many things I thought to use that I had on hand (one being the card I made the purchase with). The pack even includes some oil you can apply to the edges to prevent the occurrence of a prominent white outline on your screen. I had no idea this could happen, and I didn't come across it on either of the two applications I went through, but good to know in case it happens to you.Removal:Just take whatever plastic thing you used to remove the air bubbles and gently continue to outline the screen protector as you lift it. Despite the cracks on the first screen protector, it came off as a single piece which made everything so much easier than we had anticipated and was a testament to the durability of the materials used (otherwise undermined by the quick break that was 100 percent user error).Anyway, I hope this was all helpful. I guarantee you, you will not have to read anywhere near as much from the super simple instructions that come along with this pack. Thank you for reading and thank you to Ibywind for the amazing product.

A Really Good Screen Protector
Ibwind has done a great job with this product. Here are the positives and negatives considering both the screen protector and the phone.Positives1. The supplied alignment frame works great. Just as good as a Whitestone.2. The protector is thick glass with rounded edges. It should provide good impact protection for the ROG Phone 5/5s.3. The fingerprint reader does work, but...4. Installation was ultimately bubble free.Negatives1. The fingerprint reader doesn't work as well with the protector on. It often does not work at all when your fingers are cold or moist. Both the Ibywind and Asus instructions advise clearing the registered fingerprints before installation, then re-registering after installation. DON'T DO IT. Register all your desired prints before installation. Test, and re-register as needed, to get them working really well. Wait one day after installation (see #3), then add the same prints again - DO NOT DELETE THE PRE-SCREEN PRINTS. These prints actually still work better. Having both pre- and post-protector prints registered gives you the best change of success.2. If you already own an ROG 5/5s, you know this: the screen is not flat. The edges actually have a radius (rounded) like a Galaxy - but smaller. The reason is clear: the speaker ports are wide slots built into the screen glass. This design is brilliant, and sounds great, but it does add a radius. I doubt that even a glued Whitestone protector could adhere to them, and I wouldn't want glue getting into the speakers. Ibywind has taken the logical approach: their protector is narrow enough to avoid interaction with the edge radii. Some people don't like this look. I'm OK with it because the protector edges are rounded. But... the actual edges of the phone screen are not covered and therefore susceptible to impact damage. A case with tall edges can help.3. For some reason that is not clear (no pun intended) the ROG 5/5S screen's flat area is not actually "flat" either. It is bowed in the long axis with the middle sticking out more than the top and bottom. Be mindful of this feature when selecting cases. Combined with the thick Ibywind protector, what happens is that the protector doesn't "flow out" onto the screen quickly. Don't panic! Just remove the alignment frame and keep smoothing out the bubbles with the Ibywind cloth. I spent about 30 minutes smoothing and got the screen about 95% bubble free. Then I smoothed it for another 15 minutes about 2 hours later. I also used the Ibywind edge oil treatment. By the next day all the bubbles were gone; the protector looks great.

Install kit makes the screen application effortless.
So I've had quite a number of phones over the years and gone through plenty of protective screens. Some vary between a pain and fairly easy to apply. With the easy install frame that is included with this, the screen protector went on perfectly on the first go. No bubbles, not slightly off-center...near perfect in my opinion. I'll have to see how well the glass actually holds up. I normally only get glass protectors from another large well-known brand with known quality but I used the provided glass for now. No idea on its origin. If it performs poorly, I'll switch it out.The carbon fiber skin was likewise very simple and easy to apply. There were no instructions for its application but it was pretty straight forward. Definitely adds a bit of texture to the back of the phone to assist in slip prevention if you don't have an external cover. Biggest drawback is that it obscures/subdues the graphics and lightning on the back of the phone. I can't speak yet to how much it may impact the systems cooling. That said, it feels durable, adds a layer of protection to the back glass that is not there otherwise and I'll take a non-broken, maybe slightly warmer phone over one with a shattered back any day.I tried the metal camera cover but ended up just removing it. The adhesive that it comes with is not very strong and it just slips around under its own weight obscuring the cameras. Not a big deal in my opinion as I've never had a phone's camera damaged despite how damaged any of my phones have become.5 stars for the ease of install. 5 stars for adhesion on the screen and fiber skin. 0 stars on the metal camera cover adhesion.
