I had very little ML experience prior to preparing for this exam, but this book was just about the only thing I needed. It took ten days of reading through the book and AWS documentation to understand the concepts required for the exam. The included supplementary online practice tests and flash cards from the book's publisher were indispensable and closely mirrored the types of questions on the exam.

I recently successfully passed the AWS machine learning specialty exam and used this book in preparing for the exam. The book is well written and helpful in preparing for the exam. This exam tests your knowledge of machine learning and your ability to develop and implement viable predictive modelling solutions. In my opinion, it is not a substitute for experience designing ML solutions. I recommend additional resources be utilized to adequately prepare for the exam. For example, the book does not get into the mathematics of the ML models. It also does not cover any of the ML frameworks in detail and assumes the reader has practical experience. Setting up an AWS account and going through tutorials of the various models will help fill that gap. Hope this helps, best of luck!

I bought this as a second book and it's much nicer. I think if I memorize it all, it should be enough to pass an exam. Of course YouTube is a must haha. Fingers X ed you guys!

I want to preface this by saying that having worked hands on with ML on AWS for close to 2 years, coupled with using YouTube and other resources to study the basics of data science laid a good foundation for me. And taking the time to read the entire 107 page Well Architected Machine Learning Lens white paper.But if you have that foundation, this book is perfect to close the gaps and prep for the final test. The flash cards and practice tests were extremely helpful. Getting the book on Kindle allowed me to use highlighting for multiple pass focuses. And at least as of December 2022 it does seem to be mostly up to date (reinvent just happened so it could change soon).But overall this book was the focus of my last two weeks of prep before passing the test. Highly recommend.

Excellent guide with specialized training materials like flash cards, exams and all kinds of other useful resources. Everything about this makes it fun and a great learning experience!

A great book for learning ML and getting your AWS ML certification! Highly recommended.

Just passed the AWS ML Specialty exam and used this book as one of my study materials. The book explains some concepts really well, and does a particularly good job at defining some of well-established AWS ML and Data Engineering services. However, it is severely lacking in MLOps and points to CRISP-DM for implementation, which is a great methodology to know, but a misleading guide for the exam. I’m not sure if the exam formerly used this method.I can see an updating version of this book being absolutely invaluable though, if it were to be put out.
