The StudSensor A150 is Zircon’s newest center locating electronic stud finder that is sold exclusively on . The A150 is designed with a smooth, ergonomic rubber grip allowing for a comfortable yet secure hold for any size hand, at any angle. This stud finder uses the most recent technology in density detecting software and circuitry. The scanner has 2 scanning modes to locate the center and edges of wood and metal studs and joists behind walls, floors, and in ceilings up to 1.5 inches (38 mm) deep. In StudScan Mode, the SS A150 locates the center and edges of shallower wood or metal studs up to 0.75 of an inch (19 mm) deep. Switch over to DeepScan Mode to double the scanning depth to 1.5 inches (38 mm). This stud sensor is programmed with a WireWarning Detection feature that indicates the presence of live unshielded electrical wires up to 2 inches (50 mm) deep when using either stud scanning modes. Finding studs using this center and edge finding tool is simple. To get started, install one brand new 9V alkaline battery (not included). Place the unit flat against the wall and press the Power Button to calibrate the sensor. Once you hear a beep indicating calibration is complete, continue to hold the Power Button and slowly slide the tool across the surface. The Signal Strength Bars will appear on the LCD screen when a stud is detected. As the stud finder detects the edge of a stud, “EDGE” will appear in the LCD screen. Continue to slide the tool along the wall until you hear an audio tone and see both the the patented arrow-shaped SpotLite Pointer as well as “CENTER” on the LCD. These signs indicate the center of the stud has been found. Make sure to note whether the WireWarning Detection is alerting you to live, unshielded AC wiring before drilling into the center of the stud. A fine stud-finder
This one is a great improvement over my older model - It is accurate -indicating not only the edges of the studs, but also the centre, with a highly readable panel. In addition it indicates if there are live wires in the wall. It is simple and easy to use - just hold down the side button and glide it across the wall. It's well shaped and sits neatly in the hand.

Did the job
Seems to work pretty well.. I only needed it for hanging a mirror in the bathroom. Easy to learn and seemed pretty accurate.

5 Stars – Reliable and Accurate for Hanging TV Mounts!
I bought the Zircon StudSensor A150 to help find studs in my wall for mounting three TV wall mounts, and it worked perfectly! This tool was easy to use and intuitive, which was a big relief since I was working with wallpaper and had to get it right the first time—no room for mistakes or oversized holes.Finding the center of the studs was crucial, and this scanner made it simple. I located the center of two studs, marked them, and double-checked to ensure accuracy before drilling. When I finally went for it with a 1/4-inch hole, it was dead-on in the center of each stud. Exactly what I needed!This stud finder is reliable and works great for precise tasks like this. I’ll definitely be using it for other projects around the house. Highly recommended for anyone needing an accurate and easy-to-use stud finder!

Handy helper
I use this before i tried to mount my tv to the wall. Just takes 1 9v battery and ready to go. easy to use, just hold down button on the side and slowly slide against wall where you want to find the stud. This unit finds the center of the stud which i like. Works great so far.

I already requested my return
I feel like reviews for stud finders should either be five stars or one star. It has one job (although sometimes there are additional features). If it reliably finds studs, that is a five star product. I did not have that experience. Half of my house was built in 1950 with plaster and lath. The other half of my house has been added on in the past 15 years with studs and drywall. This product has the ability to scan at two separate depths. I used the deep scan on my plaster and lath and it thought my entire wall was a stud. I thought I would have better luck on drywall but did not. I only need this thing to do one task. If I drove a nail or drilled a hole everywhere this told me there was a stud, my wall would look like Swiss cheese and I would still be looking for a stud. To be fair, I purchased this product because none of the stud finders I currently own seem to be very reliable but the ones I own have fewer false positives than this one so this is the one that gets returned
