Basically a big heavy duty tote

This is a high quality, heavy duty tote that can fit car engines. Mine (the chevy small block type) was used to house an American Motors 390 engine. The tote came with some hokie plastic mounts that made no sense whatsoever, so they went in the garbage. Basically you need to build or purchase an engine cradle, connect it to the motor, then lower the motor into the tote. I then bolted the cradle to the tote. Plenty of extra space for all of the loose accessories .For shipping I put the tote on a small pallet and strapped it down. I did not want to ship it without a pallet since it looks like it could be knocked over by a forklift since motors can be top heavy. Also did not want a forklift driver putting a fork through the side of it while picking another pallet that is in front of the tote. I have seen that many times. It is perfect for the purpose, but each engine will need a cradle of some sort if you care about the motor.

Container = good. The engine fits after removing some items.

The case is as described; a plastic clam-shell to put a small block V8 engine in.There isn't much information out there on the product, so I'll share my experience.- A Chevy small block won't fit with the stock mechanical fuel pump in place, so after removing the 2 bolts the hold the pump on and that issue was solved.- The supplied front engine mounts and rear holes in the container are at such a height where the engine will be sitting on the oil pan, depending on its depth, instead of the mounts. This was my issue with the stock oil pan on a ZZ3 crate engine.- The engine doesn't bolt to the rear of the case when the flywheel / flexplate is still installed. The back of container is tapered and the bottom of the flywheel hits before the rear bolts can be put into place.- The weight of the engine is supported by 2 plastic mounts that attach to the factory motor mount locations for the front and bolts securing the bellhousing bolts on the rear of the engine to the container. This could be an issue if the engine were to be stored for many years if the plastic were to flex or deform over time.I wound up solving the oil pan, flywheel, and support issues by using an inexpensive steel engine stand (approx. $25 additional cost) bolted to the engine and putting it inside the container to support the weight of the engine.Overall it is pretty good and will keep everything from getting into a stored engine over the long term.
