Q: This looks pretty durable - would anyone recommend it to be safe for river floating?

You’d sure turn heads floating down the river on this - and I agree it’s pretty durable but I personally think it’s best for pool use.

Q: Does it have a quick release valve?

Two of the valves are the bigger holes, but each section has a port. 6 total. This takes an incredible time to blow up and let the air out of, even with a air pump

Q: Is this large enough and the right shape for an adult to layout on?

It’s large but like the product pic shows, your head would be holding down the tail if you were fully reclined and it’s not supposed to be that way (tail should be upright). I use mine as a pretty decorative pool accent and the kids climb on it and ride it but haven’t laid out on it.

Q: Can you blow it up manually, if so how long does it take?

I’m sure you could blow it up manually but it would be extremely difficult and time consuming. I have tried to add air manually over the months that we’ve had it and even that is hard! This thing is huge! Even takes a while with a compressor!
