Works like a charm, even for a beginner
For a small repair project I needed to connect brass adapters to a steel frame and decided to braze them. The product flows and attaches to the different metals easily and makes the connection indestructible (I couldn't destroy it on a test piece). I have no previous welding or brazing experience, only electronics soldering experience. The process is very easy with this product, even for a beginner. I used a Bernzomatic TS8000 torch with Map-Pro gas which worked great for that.

Strong bond and easy to use.
These rods work great. They have excellent tensile strength for my home projects bonding SS to SS or SS to Cu and the flux does an excellent job cleaning a dirty surface to make a strong joint. I've used propane and MAPP with these rods. When I called Aufhauser, I received friendly and helpful service. My only issue with flux coated rods is that I sometimes burn the flux off the rod which causes me to run through the flux faster than the rod.I fully intend to purchase again.

Esay to use.
Brazed stainless steel. Used Mapp gas cylinder. First time brazing, but worked well and buffed out nicely.

Expensive Silver Solder
If you can buy the 65% SS it has a better effect but you incur an even steeper increment in price, it is what it is.

Brazed mild steel to mild steel
Was what I needed. Was able to get a good joint on cast steel and mild steel. Needed a 2 inch male plug with a 1/2 inch 5 inch long nipple for a filter project. Bored a slip fit hole for the nipple in a plug cleaned the black pipe and used mapp has to complete joint. Was going to try and weld, but assumed this would give air tight joint with less effort.

Difficult to use.
Found this brazing rod difficult to use as the outer coating of flux material tends to pop off when heated.

Meets description.
For a commodity product this is pricy; but woks well.

The goods are unusable
The quality of the product was terrible. The coating on the rods is crumbling and does not allow the rods to be used for welding.
