Salomon Mens Quick Lace Kit

Works great. Pain in the @SS.
I used these to replace the draw string on the liner of my old K2 snowboard boots. It worked perfectly, but putting it together was a PAIN.Tip 1: The instructions ARE the back of the packaging and it's stapled. DO NOT RIP THE BACK OFF. REMOVE THE STAPLES CAREFULLY FIRST. Otherwise you'll tear the instructions and have to tape them back together like I did. The rest requires more patience and force than you expect.Tip 2: The very last step, the diagram for tying the thread through the clasp that joins the tops of the string together shows the knot just hanging out on one side, but you actually need to tie the knot REALLY tight and yank it deep into the clasp with no thread sticking out, for both sides; it will not clip together if the knots are not fully embedded in the clasps. You'll feel a POP once it's in place. Otherwise you'll be trying to force the 2 clasps together and it will never work.

Great for inline skate or ski/snowboard liners
Once you get the laces fed into the keeper it is really easy to get your liners tight quickly. Decent quality; my last pair held up for about 50+ snow days before the plastic tabs on the keeper broke off.

No need to tie my laces anymore!
I just finished installing these and thought I would start a review before I forget some details.First off, I am putting these into non-Salomon shoes so the eyelet holes are not as tiny (although still smaller than average) as the Salomon's. Although, the package did provide a pointed sleeve to help move the lace through the eyelet. Anyway, I have a pair of Salomon's with these quick laces and wanted the same for my Scarpa shoes. When I first opened the Amazon box and found the package, I immediately thought they didn't include instructions, but I was wrong. The instructions are on the inside of the backing card. So open the packaging carefully. The packaging is plastic, stapled to a paper backing card. You could easily rip the thing apart but may have to piece together your instructions like a puzzle afterwards. To me the instructions were rather easy to follow. I prefer visuals rather than written instructions. There are 3 separate ways to do the lacing, depending on the shoe type. The only reason I can see for keeping the loops is if you wanted two different color laces (see instruction photo, version C). The only reason I mention this is because another review mentioned cutting them based on a video \but later needing to tie new loops. If you follow the instruction card everything is rather simple, until you get to the end. The last step is to tie knots where the end pieces push together. What isn't clearly identified is that you must pull the knots into those plastic pieces until you feel or hear a little pop. Otherwise you will be trying like crazy to push the two pieces into each other. If you look at the last image (step 10) in the instructions, for example, it shows the knot on the outside of the barrel of the plastic cap. You actually need to pull the knot into the barrel which can be a little difficult since the inside of the barrel will likely be slightly smaller than your knot.. Just pull hard enough and it will eventually slip into place and you'll then feel it catch against something inside the barrel itself. If I had to point out a flaw, it's that, with enough force you can pull the two end pieces apart. I doubt they would come apart on their own but it may be a concern in the future if they continue to loosen or the lace gets snagged on something. I choose to slip the hanging piece under the laces toward the bottom (see photo) since I don't have a flap to tuck them into like my Salomon shoes. All in all I'm glad I'm able to add these quick laces to my Scarpas with these and will likely convert all of my athletic type shoes in the future.

don't cut them too short
had to buy multiple pair cause I cut them too short. love the laces though put them on my running shoes (adidas) and i just tuck the extra lace into the first loop at my toe. adjustments are easy if they were under 10 dollars i would probably put them on all my shoes

Don't bother if you have this model of Salomon's
I've used these replacement laces for other salomon's in the past and they worked great. With this particular model, however, the replacement laces were useless. Once you get past the first two eyelets, as seen in the picture, it's pretty much impossible to weave the laces through. @Salomon - can you please make your eyelets bigger so that we can replace laces since they obviously might need to be replaced before the shoe is no longer usable. In case you're wondering why I would want to keep using shoes with holes in them, it's because I use them for yard work. Easy to slip on/off, hose off, etc.

Harder than expected
My only comment is that they are much more challenging to put together than expected. Specifically, when putting together the locking mechanism at the end is challenging. Leave plenty of material at the end to work with.

Perfect fit
My dog eat the left quicklace on one of my Salomon shoes and I thought I would need to toss them but I ordered this grey set and it worked like a charm. Black wasn’t available so the grey worked just fine. I’ll need to replace the right quicklace so they are uniform.
