The trick seems to be -- Unplug from power after each use. Have more than one. They work fine.

Clever idea, but it absolutely didn't work with iphone. I don't know if this one was defective or the design just doesn't work. I had extensive back and forth with the manufacturer, followed their instructions on how to diagnose the problem. Even with their help, I could not get this thing to work.

I received a MEEM in mid December 2017 for my iPhone 6, iOS 10x. It worked find for a little over a month, then suddenly quit the following : “initializing cable”; 20 second countdown; copying process; and finally “Your data” and “Settings” on the menu page. Instead, only “Home”, “Help”, and “About Us” showed up.After using the “Help, App and Cable, and Contact Us” lifeline, soon I was emailing with Meem’s customer service. Chris was extremely dedicated in helping, including calling on the phone to help, even though he is in the U.K.. His question to me was had I upgraded to iOS 11 ( which I had not, even though the phone continually notified me for months that it was available ). So I upgraded to iOS 11.3 and the MEEM was, and is, back to behaving perfectly again.

Bottom Line. It just doesn't work. Won't stay connected to the phone.

I am on my second Meem as the first stopped working. I plug in my iPhone 7 every night to the Meem. So far it says I last backed up 12 days ago despite my plugging in the iPhone regularly. When I plug in it takes 5-10 minutes for the backup to startI can't tell if I am really backing up or not although I do see the two iPhone images.Perhaps I didn't read the description in detail, but I also find it disappointing that the Meem doesn't back up my apps or downloaded podcasts. If my iPhone needed to be replaced I would want that info.Overall, disappointed.

It stopped working after a year. Now I have an expensive charging chord.
