It works perfectly.
This gadget still works even if not connected to Bluetooth; however, it has to be paired.

Distance alert very bad
The idea is great. That said, I bought it and tried it out. Reviews tell me it alerts you after around 20 feet. This was just about ok for me, 10 feet would have been better. However, trying it out , it only alerted me between 30 -40 feet. By the time I get the alert, walk back to my phone, it may not be there! especially if you are out of sight by turning corners. The alert cannot be made to be closer, I know this because I wrote to their support and received a very Kurt and abrupt reply. Basically, live with it. I haven't, returned as it is inadequate. I want something that alerts me after I walk away 6 - 10 feet, then I can turn around and pick it up in a few steps. If you want this, it's a great device. If you want something like I do, don't bother. 3 stars as it does alert you - at some point.
