Being that I’ve lived with chronic leg pain for many years, I’ve tried out a lot of massaging solutions to help with that issue. I prefer a good massage to prescription medications because they seem to be more effective. The only thing I don’t like about them is paying someone $50 or more to do the work. I’ve tried several different mechanical massagers at home, but I’ve not had good luck with them - until now.This neck and shoulder massager from Viktor Jurgen ended up being a really nice option for massaging my leg muscles as well as my neck. Even though it’s meant for the upper body, I’ve been able to wrap it around my leg and massage both my calf and thigh muscles. What makes this possible is the adjustable strap that gives you the ability to have a massage hands-free. I have some troubles with getting enough pressure on my leg, but the Viktor Jurgen massager does a great job of providing enough tension for my aching muscles.I really like how portable the massager is. It is wired, but it’s lightweight so you can pack it away in a suitcase for traveling. I have a conference I’m attending in a few weeks and packing this away for the evenings when I need a little relaxation for my muscles will definitely come in handy. The heat is a nice bonus, but for me, I almost prefer using it without the heat. Fortunately, the product designer makes it possible to turn off the heat separate from the normal function of the massager.Even though I’ve found a good use for this to relive my leg pain, I have also used it on my neck and shoulders while sitting at my computer. Since I work behind a computer desk throughout the day, being able to use the Viktor Jurgen massager helps prevent tired neck muscles and I definitely find myself straining less than when I don’t use it. The only issue I’ve had with this massager is that is wired into power rather than being cordless. Sometimes it’s hard for me to relax when I have a cable strewn across my lap. It’s all I can focus on.This massager works very well. It’s got a strong massaging motion and it works out annoying knots in your sore muscles. It’s a nice all-purpose massager at an affordable price.

I have various portable massager from different manual trigger point massage units to automatic shiatsu pillows, due constant stiff neck and back. Now that I’m engaging in more outdoor activities as ever, it’s time for me to add another device to the arsenal.The package came with the Viktor Jurgen massager, car and home power adaptor, and two more pieces of strap extensions. You place the massager behind your neck, shoulder, or back and pressure coming from pulling the end of the straps from your arm’s weight. It has plenty of adjustments from speed, heat, to direction. As for the extension… I still don’t know where it fits because there’s no explanation for their usage anywhere in the instruction.The motor is definitely on the weak side comparing to the neck massaging pillows, however, if you use it as intended (with only pressure from the straps) then you will find it has adequate power because you have great control over exactly where the motor is on.Overall, this massager falls between the manual massager and the strong automatic neck massage pillow. I wish the motor is a bit stronger and the instruction would explain what the extra strap is for. It find its place in the times when I don’t need deep tissue massage and but medium pressure at specific places at the neck, shoulder, and back.

Ordered and arrived in 24 hours. It came in a box within a box. I just finished my first 15 minute massage (It automatically shuts off after 15 minutes, but you can restart it). I feel relaxed. I purchased a $30 more expensive, rechargeable battery one, which came with a nice carry bag, but I'm returning that one and keeping this Viktor Jurgen. I don't feel I need to be walking around the house while I'm trying to relax with self-Shiatsu massage, so I don't need a more expensive battery type. The bag is a gimmick you don't really need. This Viktor Jurgen came with a plug for wall and car charge, and that's good enough for me. This one had 8 nodes and it felt better than the expensive 4 node one. This V.J. has better straps, and a velcro piece to extend around waist to hold it in place if you like that. The heat function on both is so mild it's not really not noticeable, which I guess might be good in hotter summer climates. If you like more heat, try a heating pad before you start this massager. At first I didn't like the noise it made. The more expensive product was much quieter, but after a few minutes of massage the "noise" became like relaxing white noise, because it was consistent. Give it a try.

I was hoping to love this. But when I pull the arm straps to apply pressure on it totally bogs down & stops. Is it maybe a dud? I'd like to contsct the seller and inquire. I am thinking I must have gotten a lemon. I am a small lady, 5' 2" - 98 lbs, so I wouldn't think just by me putting pressure on would stop it? I will updste when I find out more.Update: started working fine & I've been using daily. The cord Is A pain but how often would anyone lug this huge thing around! I use daily for neck/ shoulder blade pain & get lots of relief! The cordless version is $30 more.

Nothing compares to this. I have to use it several times per week.It is strong if you put your weight back, and light if you don't lean too hard.It is great!

Worth the price for a nice massage whenever you want. I like it on the highest setting. It feels like someone is pulling my neck. Perfect.
