One of the main artillery tractors in the Red Army , especially at the beginning of the war. The tractor was developed in the Stalingrad Tractor Factory (STZ) with the participation of the Scientific Institute of Auto-Traktorowego (NATI) its chassis was modeled on the British light tank Vickers Carden-Loyd, tested in the USSR in 1931 and part of the American tractor International TA-40.
