I was very apprehensive of this system and tried it on my cheap brushes first. Honestly, it does not 'clean' your brushes. The best way to use it is to wash them yourself by hand (I use baby shampoo) yhen put a boot on the brush and insert it into clean water and turn on. That will rinse them and then spin them dry. They won't be 100% dry but they'll be very close to it. The boots covered all my big brushes but I had a few small one for which there was not a small enough boot. The box arrived very beat up. The rubber rim for the bowl did not fit. I had to warm it up and stretch it out. And there is no adapter for the USB cord. Very large brushes struggle to spin fast when totally submerged in water, but spin well when drying. Smaller brushes spin well in water but not as well when drying (the bristles don't fan out really well). Also, you have to figure out the right amount of grip to use on the unit. Finally, the boots can be difficult to remove from the brushes. All in all, I wanted something which would allow me to wash my brushes every Sunday night and have them dry and ready for use on Monday. This unit allows me to do that. It was worth the $20 to me.
