Rust Converter & Primer 500 ml

I bought Aquasteel to treat the insides of iron house rhones after past disappointments with proprietary brands and after searching in vain locally for something which didn't need to be washed down or cleaned with meths (yes! imagine) after use.The product is ideal for my purpose and two coats not only bond with, and cure the rust but promise to be longer lasting than bituminous paint or hammerite. Also it is innocuous to use, can be applied fast (tip: just shake container and pour some into the rhone for brushing) and dries fast although you do need to wait up to 8 hours to recoat, or 24 hours if overcoating with a cellulose based paint. It is also reasonably priced.

Used this to clear up two rusty floorpans on my classic car, it basically paints the rust a milky colour with a blue hue, as it drives this turns black and can be painted over, I only used about half a bottle and painted it on with a brush.Only issue to note is it does seem to strip surrounding paint work, so if treating your bodywork I would perhaps ensure you have the correct paint to cover it quickly when it has dried.

Really like this product! Does exactly what it says. It’s easy to use I just brushed it on pretty thick with a brush. Seems pretty safe, non hazardous. Turns rust hard, black metal. Used on a very rusted 19year old van and happy with results.

Recommended by my local garage it worked well on a very rust bracket that would have been hard to replace Easy to apply. Time will hopefully tell how good it is, but for now I'm happy.

I am very pleased with this purchase very good quality at a reasonable price & goes well with the other items I purchased earlier.

Very effective compound. Takes an hour or two to work but develops a nice hard black covering of converted rust. Used it to renovate a very rusty garden bench and finished it with white Hammerite. Used about half of the bottle so there's plenty left for other rusty bits The bench looks new and there is no sign of returning rust. Job done - good product

Does not work at all.Applied this to parts of my shell that have very very superficial surface rust where I had previously wire wheeled to bare metal but had been left a week or so, so very little surface rust, not only has it not converted the rust that was there it has allowed that rust to carry on THROUGH the product. Now I have to clean all this off and spend more money on something that actually works.And yes I had followed the instructions as per the label. I have used Hammerites solution previously with no problems.The first pic is when I applied the product and here are the results the next day...
