Q: Does the kit contain waxed discs for 1lb jars please?

Hi Val, No, it just contains the cellophane discs (10.5cm dia) and rubber bands that you place over the top of the jar when cooled down. You will need to buy the waxed discs separately. Jars come in so many different shapes and sizes these days, so best to check the diameter beforehand. Hope this helps.

Q: Do you use these with the jam jar lid?

Yes, I've always used them with the lid, I put the cellophane and elastic band on first ,then the lid, loosely at first and when it has cooled down, I tighten them up. Hope this helps.
