Shoots far!!!
I was worried about the reviews, but decided to try it out anyways. This is the best dog ball shooting toy ever!!!! My lab pup is a year old and is all about fetch. I'm not a good thrower, so i decided to try this, and OMG its a game changer!!! She actually gets to run farther after the ball, and has learned to drop it, so i don't get my hands all slimy from her getting it. This is absolutely worth it!!!

Dog and Son toy
Great toy for both doggie and human. My son had as much fun as the dog. Made great.

Springs are a bit weak, doesn't throw the ball all that far.
The springs are a bit weak, but it does the job for my short back yard. I like the fact that it accepts a wide variety of tennis and glow in the dark balls around 2.5 inch diameter. My dog will come to the ratcheting sound of my engaging the springs. Young children may find this hard to arm.

Glow Ball Lets Pug Finish Fetch At Dusk.
Great ball for Pug as it glows in dark. Good for finishing up playing fetch at dusk/nightfall.

Updated: It Broke
Updated 7/30:It broke. My husband thinks he can fix it but this is absolutely a waste of money. If I could still return it, I would.__________Original Review:We have a fetch-driven dog and thought this would be a fun way to throw the ball far. This might seem obvious but this is purely a novelty and not practical at all. The gun is loud when fired and loading the ball, pulling back the slide and pulling the trigger gets real annoying after a few throws. We'll probably just use this when my niece and nephew are around but I suspect they'll need help using it. The trigger actually needs a lot of pressure to pull back.I think this is just a personal quirk, but I don't have enough finger strength to just use my pointer finger pad to pull the trigger. In order for me to shoot, I have to curl my finger completely around the trigger and then pull. It's hard for me to explain, but basically my first finger knuckle is doing most of the work. And the gun is designed terribly so that every time I pull the trigger, I pinch my finger pad each time. Even real guns aren't this hard to use. I really do not like this and would have returned it but my husband enjoys it so at least he gets some use out of this. In my opinion, this is overpriced and silly. You'll use this a handful of times and then it will get collect dust. Just stick with the reliable ChuckIt Launchers.Side note: even though it still works, the slide mechanism doesn't automatically go back to the start position once the back is launched. It quick working after a few shots. So now, after we launch the ball, we have to push the slide forward, pick up the ball and then pull the slide back. When it was working, the slide mechanism would automatically snap forward so all you had to do was pull the slide back after every shot, now it just added an extra step.

Great concept, but durability needs improvement!
I absolutely love this ball launcher when it works — it's a fantastic product that my dog enjoys immensely. However, I've had to replace it every 2–3 months due to the rubber band inside wearing out and eventually breaking. While I understand that wear and tear is expected, I do feel it should last much longer given the price. Speaking of price, it fluctuates frequently — sometimes it's around $34, and other times as low as $20. Because of how often I need to replace it, I now only purchase it when it's at the lower end of that range. With a few improvements in durability, this could easily be a five-star product.

Keep in a temperature controlled environment and keep your balls clean, figuratively speaking that is
My dog loves this thing, have used daily, multiple shots, will last easily 6 months before the band breaks, have went through many and this exact model is the best,I keep an extra one just in case, so my dog won’t have to wait, you can pick the ball off the ground with the barrel, which is a nice feature, warning, make sure your not picking up any leaf particles stuck to the ball,as it will seem to filter its way into the gun,and jam on rare occasions, also do not leave outside, like on you’re porch in the winter time, as the freezing temps will cause the stretch band to snap, will shoot 25-30 feet honestly, seems farther the warmer it is outside, don’t use the balls it comes with, they suck, just get some cheap yellow reg tennis balls at Walmart, and my dog knows it’s a special treat when she sees you break out a fresh new yellow ball, so treat them often as it seems to be worth every penny, hope I am trying to type out all the information that I was looking for before I purchased so I hope this helps

Launches balls high and pretty good distance too. My dog loves it!
My dog LOVES to catch these balls. It shoots them pretty high and he loves to jump and catch them. This is the 2nd one I purchased. The first one got worn out because he wants to play every day.
