No Magnetic Base - Good Otherwise
As noted by other buyers; this DOES NOT have a magnetic base, despite the description saying otherwise. If you need that feature, look elsewhere.Otherwise, it works well with my Debian SBC with no configuration whatsoever - just plug and play. One important thing to note; when you first plug this in, don't be surprised if it produces an empty NMEA stream for a while (e.g. 15 minutes); it will be downloading almanac and ephemeris data from the satellites. Subsequent fixes are much faster. You can monitor the NMEA output in Linux with 'cat /dev/ttyACM0'. Ideally though you'd install something like 'gpsd' to interpret the NMEA data for you and return coordinates, altitude, speed, etc.

Works as expected but ignore any comment regards magnetic base as it's plastic
Works as expected. Why 3 stars?Description says it has a magnetic base, it neither has a magnetic base nor is it metal. It is plastic that looks metal.

Works great, simple to use
Did everything I want. No magnet, which is good, it sits next to a compass so I'd have to remove the magnet anyway.Neodymium button can be added if necessary

Well made works perfectly
Used for an Open Plotter/CPN build on RPI3, accurate, works through 6mm of fibreglass and has a long lead. Perfect.
