Vinny just makes everything better :)
This is the second book in the Joseph Bridgemnan series and it begins to take us in a new and different direction. After telling the stranger who appears in his shop that he is not interested in the "Time travel club" (those are my words, I can't remember the name of the organization) he immediately finds himself back in the past - this time to 1963. This time, things do not go so well.I liked this book. This book is also narrated by Ray Porter - who is awesome - but still has that one quirky fact surrounding it. For some reason, Joseph is the only character who speaks in an American accent, even though the story is set in London and all of the other characters talk with a British accent. Odd? I know.Joseph discovers that the life he had before he rescued Amy is now gone and with that one event, everything has changed. He ends up being thrown into a life that he has no memories of living because things changed. He inadvertently changed the timeline with Amy's rescue. And, he is finding out that he is not sure he really likes the man that "other Joe" was.The addition of Vinny as a main supporting character makes the book. He is funny, and just perfect as Joseph's wingman. Then there is the case - save the woman from being killed in 1963. Piece of cake, right?Nope, it really isn't....

Another GREAT read!
I absolutely love And Then She Vanished. And The Shadows of London does not disappoint. This second book takes up shortly after Joe comes back from trying to rescue his little sister. But things are not the way he remembered them. Some things are better, and some things are not. And as he tries to figure out how to navigate all those changes, he has to try to get a grip on his abilities.Poor Joe is blackmailed by a cunning time traveler like him and has to save an innocent woman from the 1960s from a ruthless gangster or things as he knows it now will be reversed. Luckily, Joe has help from his friend Vinny. Things go wrong and Joe has to save himself before he can save anyone else.To find out what all happens to this unlikely hero, please read this book.

Time travel showing real (?) effects
I really like how Nick Jones handles time travel, showing its effect on the people around the time traveler. Every time a person travels significantly back into time, it's effects are seen upon their return. And very good story-telling to boot. A winning combination. Highly recommended.

Brilliant and Entertaining
I think I love the idea that there are people out there traveling through time righting wrongs and changing the course of history. We've all heard you cant change the past you can only learn from it and I thnk Joe and Vinny would agree but then all change isn't bad right? As in the first book I love the character Vinny. He's smart and funny and a little devil-may-care. I enjoyed this book. So much thought and research had to go into writing it. It's brilliant and entertaining at the same time.

Much enjoyed!
Typing on my tablet is awful, but I must get the minimum 20 words out! This book was great fun, and I enjoyed it. The characters are likable, they don't do stupid things, and the adventure is intriguing and amusing. I would love another sequel!

Another enjoyable adventure with Joe
Joe isn't in control of his life, and that adds enjoyment to the journey we take with him. I love time travel stories and The Shadows Of London takes us through time to periods we've either never been or forgotten. I couldn't have a better travelling companion than Joe. He knows how to get into and out of trouble, while I'd never be successful at the latter. He introduces me to characters I'm glad to know, and some I'd avoid, and along the way he shows me what it's like to be a time traveler. I look forward to our next adventure.

Disappointing
Perhaps a surprising thing to say about a time travel novel but this book is too far fetched. Also it is like many films where the sequel does not match up to the original. The premise seems quite a good one at the start and the opening chapters are exciting and the story line remains strong but some individual events are scarecly believable.

Loved this sequel as much as the first in the series
Couldn’t put it down. Reading late into the night and at times when I should have been doing something else. I like the character and the particular twist on the time travel idea. Can’t wait for the next book.
