60 years ago I was bit by the Audio bug. 25 years of that in home theater. I guess you’d call me an audio-file, if there’s such a thing. In the home theater set up the most important speaker is the center. For years I have been searching for the right center speaker. The trick is the right balance between quality and money spent…without going into a lot of specs and jargon. This is absolutely the best center speaker that you’ll invest in. Nothing comes close and I mean nothing. It backs everything off the map, no matter the name or the cost.

The DM30 is a fantastic center channel speaker. Every nuance in dialogue captured. You will be amazed at what you've been missing in lesser center channel speakers. I purchased DM20 first, which is less expensive, but returned it. If your budget can be stretched beyond the DM20, I highly recommend the Definitive DM30. Premium flagship speaker, packaged with great attention to detail. Complements and greatly enhances my existing Definitive system inclusive of Definitive Mythos ST left and right tower speakers. Extremely pleased, my 5.1 home cinema experience is vastly improved with the addition of the DM30. Crystal clear dialogue at any volume.

Love how you can adjust the bass on the back. We removed the sub-woofer from our surround system.

Rarely write reviews, but this one deserves it. I am a Definitive fan and customer and know reputation by my ownership for a decade. Have had multiple center channel speakers but this one tops them all. Produces clear sound across the spectrum which is full, punches with clarity and presence and tremendously improves the entertainment experience. It proves just how important the role of a good center speaker is to the entertainment value. Build and design is top notch as usual. Part of a 7.1 system with an 85" OLED. The size of the sound almost makes me wish I had a larger screen size. Happy with purchase.

Bought this here because no one had it .. was a replacement for a very old center speaker. If your in to movies with action .. sci fi etc this speaker is something you may want think about. The voice sound placement is amazing along with the powered sub it brought out sound I’ve never heard before in my particular surround setup. If you can swing it I highly recommend it is absolutely incredible!

Replaced BP8060ST’s, CS-8060HD (dead amp) and Supercube 3 (dead amp) with DM70’s, DM30 and SVS 3000PB sub. Honestly, I am blown away with the new speakers. Marantz SR8015 was able to handle despite of a large room. Deviating the topic (as we cannot rate center in isolation), the Bi-Polar in the in DM70’s (front left and right) are extremely difficult to handle. I ended up building a Quadratic Residue Diffuser in the back of the speakers to make them right (other option is shut off rear speakers). The calibration of 3 subs in the front speakers + external SVS sub is extremely challenging and need an expert. So, does it make sense to have a sub in the front main and center? I would say no. Over complicate and quality issues. A 2.5 fronts would probably a piece of cake to calibrate with an external sub (plus long lasting). Summary: Over Engineered and over complicated HT package.I was happy with the sound quality of the old system despite of the amp issues. The subwoofer was changed multiple time as the Amp keep failing. As the amp in the CS8060 failed, I called DefTech and they are not selling the parts anymore (they can only repair the amp for a hefty price + shipping). They don't have any new matching 4.5" center speakers with sub in the current lineup (same problem with the new DM60’s). How can you make DM60’s without a matching center? DefTech technical support recommended to use the center without sub and re-calibrate. It didn't sound good/blend with other speakers. Left with no options but to replace the front and sub, when they were on sale. New DM30 dead on arrival but, it was promptly replaced by the manufacturer. I didn't realize the warranty has been reduced to 2 years (instead of 5 years). My main complaint is, the amplifiers are not going to last long and it is very expensive to replace. The company was sold including the spirit. The offshore technical support has no clue about their own products, coupled with terrible warranty. I would give 5 stars for just the sound quality but, reduced it to 3 for the build quality (electronics) and customer service issues. These expensive speakers are supposed to last long.

This made a significate improvement in the clarity of movie dialog. Good for music too as solo singer voices sound realistic. I paired this with DM80 front speakers and DM60 surround speakers. Fantastic sound all around.
