Starter book.
Easy read but a bit basic. Would have expected more about restoring cabinets as well as the electronics. Ok if you are just getting into the hobby but really it's a starter book.

Much detail not provided in other books
I have several books on tube radio repair and restoration, but none give the detail on design that this one does. For example, nowhere else have I seen descriptions, and merits of, "anode bend" versus "leaky grid" detectors. Sure some of the terminology is peculiarly British, but If you can get past that, this is a great little book.I would not recommend this book for beginners, but it will make a great addition to your restoration library.

Interesting Read If You Already Know How To Restore Old Vacuum Tube Radios.
Interesting & good read if you already know how to restore old radios. This book was written in England and covers European radio sets. Some of the schematics were way too small. If you don't already know how to restore old tube radios, this book will give you a headache. Suggest you consider purchasing "The All-American Five Radio" by Richard McWhorter. It covers restoration of a RCA model 9x561 radio from 1950. With the exception of some type O errors regarding Ohm's Law calculations, the text of McWhorter's book is EXACTLY right in every respect. You may consider buying a RCA 9x561 and restoring it yourself by following the book.

This is a very useful book to restoring vintage radios
This is a very useful book to restoring vintage radios, I find to many information about radio electronics, but in my opinion the beginers must have basic knowledge, some experience and hability in electronics to get a better help from this book, this isnot a recipe cooking book.
