Pay $20 on prime day for these echo pops ( I bought one for my bedroom and office)This is for home automation and controlling anything that has WiFi. Lights, TV, Power Adapters etc, I feel like I’ve been living in the Stone Age, never going back to touching light switches again. I attached photos of some of the things I suddenly have automated now that I have Alexa in this pop.You can say things like “Alexa” “make the lights red” “turn the lights down 50%” “call my phone” “what’s the wind like today” “ add this to my cart and check out” and lots of Amazon related notifications if you’d like. It’s super handy.Alexa is more responsive and easier to use than Siri on my latest iPhone. I even use it to call myself when I lose my phone in my home. Now you should now as of the current date of this review the AI isn’t comparable to Siri yet but I’m sure that will change in the coming months.This echo pop is so sensitive that it can pick up whispers at night so I don’t disturb anybody and I can turn off and on the lights.This is a good thing! you should be buying this for Alexa and not because it’s a speaker. I do use it to play low music really quickly. But This is meant for home automation first and if you’re looking for a good speaker, buy a better speaker that’s sound focused. I read reviews that the microphone on this is better than the larger more expensive echo Dot. I don’t have an echo dot so please read those reviews yourself before making a decision.Now you’re probably wondering what lights to get and I recommend the Govee brand, I just discovered them. And they work great and are a leading brand. Make sure any smart bulbs or plugs you get have WiFi and Alexa approved, cheaper Bluetooth lights and cameras won’t connect to Alexa and you’ll need to buy a smart power strip or plug that does.We tried to get one for my grandma who has dementia to make it easier to control lights but they don’t understand the tech and it likely won’t work they’ll think it’s spying. i am very happy with my latest alexa product, the echo pop. i like purple, the size is nice and i think it's rather cute. i changed the voice to the asian version, and i like the way it sounds when 'she' responds to me. i have one set to the british voice, i like the way they pronounce my name - mar-ci-a. the more alexa's i have the better it will be. they answer my questions so i don't have to looke them up, they are there when i want to play puzzle of the day, timers keep me from burning up my food, they play music i want. i just wish i could link them so that more than one could be playing music at a time.
