NOVOFLEXMagic Ball 50 tripod head Grey 1/4, 3/8"

I now have both the large and smaller MagicBall heads and they are both superb to use. For still photography I cannot think of anything better than being able to lock a tripod head with a turn of one control. Once locked, it stays there. So many other tripod heads have "quick release" plates which slip when the camera is turned into a portrait format. No problem with the Novoflex – there is no quick release mounted as standard and I'm pleased about it!

The very best tripod head I have ever used. Sturdy in build, smooth and quick to operate. I got a quick release to mount on top that works great with it and cost only £10 on Amazon and fully supports the weight of my Canon 1DX MK2 and an L series 100-400mm lens easily. Expensive? Perhaps but I feel worth the money.

Small, but very solid feeling, and held my camera easily (Sony A99, + up to 200mm 2.8 Apo lens). Very flexible, and allows me to get into any position, despite the angles and positioning of my tripod legs. Expensive, but feels worth it.
