Let me start out by saying ive researched all the multi tools I could research. Leathermans quality gurantee and the tool selection on the Wave along with portability for EDC. I would love the SOG assisted access multi tool but the tool selection on it just wasn't acceptable for what I was looking for. I found out about the patents expiring on the leatherman clones being made out of China and I bought a (surge clone made by bibury) and that multi tool is definitely quality but the blade wasn't as thick as this leather man wave plus blade is. It was longer obviously the surge is bigger. What im getting at is Leatherman is top of the line quality backed by a gurantee you can't beat that.My only negative comment is I needed to use the screwdriver to change batteries in an infant toy and the proprietary flat bits leatherman uses click into the tool with a rectangular slot to fit them in and the point is to take up less thickness in multi tools often they are to fat and bulky for men to use them as an EDC. Well the screwdriver wouldn't fit into this battery pack covers hole and I even tried with the driver leatherman sells still wouldn't fit. This isn't a leatherman issue but I feel the need to mention if you need to get into tight holes you will need to have some extended bits that are skinny and then plug those into the leather man driver because I can't find anywhere a skinny extension bit that isn't standard 1/4" bit. I'm not complaining at all about leathermans flat bit it's genius I'm just saying you will need a driver that accepts the 1/4" standard bits to do certain things. If you know anything about tools at all your thinking duh right now lol but hoping someone reads this and is taught something. Love my leatherman wave plus will forsure buy another leatherman down the road. But today the SOG pint saved me with the built in Phillips bit having that skinny and just long enough reach to get batteries in a musical toy for my baby girl.

I've been carrying one of these daily for about 5 years now. With how many times I use it instead of going to grab a tool from the tool box, I'm not sure how I got along without one. The fit and finish on it is very nice. The only thing I have had an issue with is what they call the "medium screwdriver" (the wide silver non-removable one), I have had two of them snap where they go around the pivot, it's quite thin there, and they have snapped under light usage also. Luckily Leatherman's repair policy and customer service is lightyears ahead of most other brands. I've gotten so attached and dependent on the Wave+ that I have a spare one to rotate into it's place on the rare occasion I have to send the daily carry out for repair.

At first I really wanted to get the free p4 because of how fidgety it is and everything being accessible from the outside and with one hand really had me doing my homework. But the wave + by far has the better tools, and with a little bit of oil it can get almost as loose as the free. All the tools come in handy, I have used the wave everyday since my first day of purchase, it really does have everything you need. Come on, it also has a diamond file and for that price it's a no-brainer.

Pliers work great! I also enjoy I am able to flip between standard and Philips screw bits without difficulty. I also like how I can replace them if broken!
