Medical Contact Lens Cleaner, Gas Permeable Contact Lens Cleaner

I purchased this item as I have RGP lenses and was having issues with them "foggy" up and it was driving me crazy. I read a review where someone else had purchased and was happy with the item so I decided to take the jump and try it as I was at my wits end. I wear my lenses from the time I get up in the morning until probably 8 or 9 p.m. so I need them to stay fresh and "grease free" if there is such a thing. But since I have been using this lens cleaner I haven't had any problems. Very happy so far. I just use I believe it is Lobo cleaner in the unit and leave them in the unit all night and in the morning, I just rinse with regular Saline solution and so far so good. Thanks for the product!

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  This device works well at cleaning my GP Lenes when using Boston Simplus solution and my lens are clear and comfortable. The instructions are pretty clear about using it to clean RGP lenses, and the cushions are in contact with the lens floating on a fine solution layer, so maybe not good for soft lenses. A highlight is that it only takes about 4 drops per lens to do the process, so you will use less than 1/2 the solution over time when compared to storing in a lens case. It definitely does a better job than my large fingers rubbing them, and likely less wear and tear over time than rubbing by hand.The manual does call it sonic, not ultrasonic, which makes senses as it is a sonic vibrator and does the job well. As soon as you start the unit, it goes through multiple cycles which are very obvious to the touch and you can hear it. If you leave it on a hard counter, it will vibrate louder and actually moves a little; but laying it on a wash cloth solves that easily.Other points:- The unit design is aesthetically pleasing and the controls are very simple as there is only one button on the unit, and it is the start/stop button. The unit does turn off after its two-minute cycle automatically, but you can press the button while running to stop the unit if desired.- It seems well constructed with my only negative being that the cushion case is not easy to get off with my finger nail. My solution was to simply use a suction cup (included with the unit) to grab the cover and lift it off; easy enough and not worth reducing to four stars.I was concerned about the longterm viability of the unit and replacement of the lens cushions. The manual states to replace them every 3 months, and I'm guessing that is more of a issue of disinfection rather than wear of the cushions - there's really nothing to wear. However, I noticed that replacement sets are now available on Amazon as well, so I'm stocking up.Update 3/28/18I’ve been using the same set of batteries, daily, since buying the first week of January (noted by the green LED being off during operation), so that's good for me. The unit continues to perform well. I keep my lenses in the unit over night with Boston Simplus and then run it in the morning, rinse with saline and insert. I've found this works very well for me for the entire day until bedtime. I'm still very pleased with the unit and my lenses have never felt better throughout the whole day. This is an excellent cleaning unit.

My contacts have never felt better! A couple things--I would not use this to store my lenses. I put one drop of cleaning solution in the cup. Put my lenses in with two drops on top. I run the cycle, take them out and rinse with saline solution and disinfect overnight with Oxycept (great product). I take the silicone parts out of the gizmo, rinse with saline and let air dry. 3 minutes, bam, done. I've had no issues with solution getting into the unit and things rusting. Oh, when u hear the batteries running low, replace them. I don't think u get the same level of clean when it's not kicked into high gear. One other thing--it will vibrate off of the counter so I make sure it's on a washcloth or something.

Update: The owner of the company contacted me and shipped a new unit without me even asking for one. The new one works great and I haven't had any issues with it. Great customer service and if the new unit holds up, it's a definitely winner.Old Review:It's great when it worked. After less then 2 months of owner ship and using it every other day, the motor is already messed up. Barely wants to vibrate anymore. Save your money, just buy the protein removal drops to get rid of the stubborn stuff.

This little machine works amazingly well on my gas permeable lens. I was so frustrated before I met this lens cleaner, with being able to get my lenses clean. Not anymore!

Cleans lenses ok. Tested it by leaving a smudge on lens and it didn’t clear it completely off. If lenses are already clean it does a nice job. Be careful why you’re buying this. I bought it because my lenses were fogging up and it was supposed to help that problem, it doesn’t.

VueSonic, I bought this product on amazon.com in January 2018. It stopped working on May 2018. I thought it was the batteries. II replaced the batteries 3 times with 3 different brands and nothing works.Can you please contact me?

UPDATE: After my negative review, the seller changed the product name and description to remove that they are for soft contact lenses. Clearly, they do not care to test their products or are fine with false advertising.Usage with Soft Contact Lenses:- It doesn't fit soft contact lenses too well.- VISION BECOMES BLURRED: The cushion is smaller than the lens, so pushing it down with the plastic lid/silicon cover overnight just leaves it in a weird deformed shape -> Thus, my vision is always blurred for a few minutes when putting contacts in after using it in this device.Other negatives:- Included batteries were dead - had to purchase my own batteries.- VueSonic says the device should automatically turn off after the two minutes of cleaning, but it just keeps going until the button is pressed to stop it.- The plastic lid covering lenses was also somewhat difficult to remove since I don't have the nails for it.- Given the sliding design, it is difficult to clean should contact solution spill on the undersideThe design is definitely pleasing to the eye given how portable it is, but I cannot recommend this product at all.
