I had my doubts but these are awesome. We live in the country and winds can tear things apart. I used these to add a second layer of shade to our Pergola. We had two storms this year one with 80 mph winds. These stayed together and I will definitely purchase again.

Update: some of these clips have started to fail on the loop part. I guess the price is right.I was thinking of using zip ties or grommets but was worried that it would weaken the shade and eventually tear out, these hold well with a greatly reduced risk of tearing. They can be tricky to click into place, you need to align the pegs with the holes it's not really about strength so much--it's ok if you miss some holes and just squash the pegs, but you'll need to press HARD if to get the other pegs in and flatten the misaligned one. I did have a couple clips come loose, you can clip them back in then thread a zip tie through the large hole in and zip tie these shut securely. These things are maybe a bit more tricky than most people would like but they're not really all that difficult to use if you have some patience.

I used these clips to hang green.tek anti-hail netting over my garden. Once I had my netting cut to the proper size the clips were very simple to fold over and secure to the corners and on center points. I didn't believe how easy these were to use. I folded the fabric over once to make sure the threads were secure. I didn't trust the clips on the first few and set them on the ground to apply light foot pressure but rapidly discovered it was not needed. They were solid with finger pressure. The holes in the clips were perfect to hook bungee cords into and stretch the hail net over the garden.

Doesn't penetrate material

These clips are thick and sturdy, which is great. I have arthritis in my fingers, though, and I found it impossible to close them with my fingers on the 2-and-more-ply mesh netting I used to protect my very large wisteria from Japanese beetles. I had to use needle-nose pliers to close each clip, which was difficult and time consuming (I had 2 packs). The clips did hold up over very windy conditions and did the job, though, so I do recommend them. Anyone with finger limitations may want to allow extra time and/or get help.
