I broke two previous different makes and models of external speakers by dropping them repeatedly. So this time I looked for something that would attach to the laptop monitor, get it out of the way, not take up surface space, and not go flying under normal use conditions.This speaker fits the bill. The clamp has a good but not impossible spring in it, so it's relatively easy to expand but tight enough to grip the monitor. The angle of the speaker when attached to the monitor is about eye height, but that depends on your height and the place you're sitting. Controls are on the top for a laptop, but the USB connection (the speaker is shipped with a USB-C adapter as well) allows for volume to be controlled on the laptop itself.The sound quality is not as good as the built-in speakers, but at least I can hear it. I've bought external speakers because some streaming services, like Amazon and Disney, provide very low-volume audio, which really kills the enjoyment. The price point is good. Using this on an HP Envy 17 in touch screen.The spring tabs obscure two small areas where you might have browser tabs. For me, these obscurances were acceptable.

They are adequate for music but if you are an audiophile, these won't hit the mark. But remember, that are budget priced. I have a curved monitor. They easily clip to the vertical sides but not to the curved portion but will standup nicely if you want them under your monitor. Hard to beat for the price.

I'm someone that enjoys hi-fidelity, for that I have what I call my "car-payment" headphones.But when I'm working in the garage working on a project or just taking a call, I don't need those. These headphones I'm impressed to say get surprisingly loud and do a decent enough job for not needing an extra power. The buttons don't seem to always respond consistently though I'm sure that's an android thing more than the speaker.These are pleasant and totally functional boombox style speakers, I'd recommend these and think they're pretty good especially given the price.
