Worked great!
I started baking sourdough for the first time ever at the beginning of the year. I wanted to fast track my starter, so I purchased this sourdough starter culture.I followed the directions before going to bed, and started my sourdough in the morning. My first loaf turned out great! I've made 1-2 loaves a week since January 1st, and haven't had any issues with my starter.It's been such a hit that my husband stopped buying bread at the store, and my sister keeps asking me to make her a loaf.Who knew sourdough could be so easy?! 😀

Best Starter!!!
I struggled for 4 weeks to get a starter going from scratch. I was so frustrated. This starter was amazing! I opened the packet, followed the instructions and it instantly worked. I was able to bake with the first rise! (I couldn't wait!) It makes a great starter and sourdough bread! There is a great amount of starter to get going!

It works!
Because of celiac disease I have been gluten-free for over 10 years. I haven’t made sourdough since being diagnosed with disease. I don’t know as possible. I stumbled on the starter kit and immediately bought it and all the things I needed to make my own bread again and I’m so excited I did! I just baked my first loaf yesterday! It came out fantastic. There’s not a lot of instruction included so I just went to YouTube. I only fed my starter once a day with a King Arthur gluten-free flour blend. I ended up baking my bread with brown rice, cassava, and buckwheat flours. It’s delicious and I can’t wait for my next loaf!

Not worth purchasing even if you only paid a penny
I have made sourdough for 30 plus years. I am extremely disappointed but not surprised by the lack of quality in this product. I SHOULD have known buying a starter on amazon was not a good idea nor would it be high quality.

Didn’t notice different instructions for rye flour
Please note there are different instructions of using rye flour. I didn’t realize that until I followed the directions for using regular flour and it didn’t turn out well. So I tried again with regular flower and I’m not sure if it worked.

It works - perfect bread
This kit saved my reputation as a grandmother! My granddaughter wanted to make sourdough bread and I tried to rush the starter the old fashioned way - the day before baking the starter was no good. I had this delivered right away and the bread came out lovely and I breathed a sigh of relief. I will use this every time from now on!

Off to a very slow start...
I started it yesterday with the intention of baking today. But after 20 hours (78 degrees) it had only grown about 15%. After 28 hours it has now finally doubled. It may be fine, but not as speedy as advertised. Maybe I can use it tomorrow.

Great results for a quick start
I've purchased this twice now. 1st time My granddaughter wanted to make sourdough when I was out to visit so needed something that I could use in a couple of days. I found this while searching and decided to give it a try. It worked we were baking sourdough bread in 24 hrs. It needs additional time to develop a deeper sourdough flavor but if you want a quick start this works.2nd time I mixed it with a dried starter that has great flavor but takes a couple of weeks of feedings to get a good double. Again I was baking bread in a few days.On a negative I did recommend this to a friend who purchased it but did not have success but I can't vouch for her process so take it with a grain of salt.
