HICTOP Flexible Couplings 5mm to 8mm NEMA 17 Shaft Coupler for RepRap 3D Printer Prusa i3 2pcs

I was having a really hard time getting a decent print out of my Prusa i3 clone 3D printer due to ribbing around the print, but once I replaced the original plastic tubing supplier with the kit to these couplings, all my ribbing issues have disappeared. The flexible part in the middle of these couplings gives enough flex to allow the rods to move freely, meaning that movement isn't transferred to my prints.These were super cheap and arrived really fast. If you've got any issues with your 3D printer and ribbing, get these. You'll not regret it.

These were purchased after discovering the couplers on my Geeetech I3X were slightly too small for an 8mm Leaded rod.These couplers fit perfectly onto the rod and I am now enjoying wobble free prints.

Not for use on a CNC machine really. The springiness is too soft. I milled a PCB with the solid couplers that came with my 1610 and it was perfect. I then milled a PCB with these fitted and the precision was lost. Some pads varied in size compared to their same sized neighbours. On moving the head manually I found that the coupling compressed and stretched far too easily and this was what was leading to lost precision. Probably fine for a 3D printer where there is no load on the head. I need to put my solid ones back on.

Absolutely terrible. I bought 2 of these, 1 of them wouldn't fit on the motor shaft and the other was even wonkier than the ones I was trying to replace!
