So I have never written a review but I felt compelled after reading how this did not work for so many. I have a fear aggressive dog. Hates other dogs constantly barks and tries to go after them. I have 2 dogs both the same bread. I thought the same thing I just wasted 9 bucks but worth a shot. I don't know what my male hears but he stops as soon as I hit the button. It does nothing for my female and that is fine because she is not the problem. So all in all I am happy it works on my aggressive dog and sorry that it doesn't work for so many.

I bought this item as an attention getting device for my puppy; and to use as a training aid. after trying repeatedly I am convinced that the device has no effect at all. Rather than rate it good or bad I maintain it is really useless.

Works awesome!! Only fault is the button is not lockable so you don’t accidentally press when you are holding it. The switch should have an option to have it in a neutral position where you are not either turning the light on or in the warning positions. It only has three options, fixed light on, warning one or warning two. And the button on the side is not protected from you accidentally pressing it as you need to choose either warning one or warning two to keep light off.

These are great! Every time I've purchased one I end up gifting it.Great for any outdoor activities where you might encounter an unruly dog on the way. My neighbors dog would always greet me with it's annoying barking. Using training mode I got him to stop. I don't even have to use it anymore.It's construction is not the highest quality but it's cheap and effective. There is no on/off switch. It has a selector switch that allows you to go from flash light (on), to training and repel using the additional momentary on button on the top of the device. That said you do need to be careful where you keep it because your normal switch position for storing will be training mode and you may be activating it unknowingly.

So I purchased this item to stop aggressive dogs. I have a little yapper next door that never shuts up and barks from sundown to sunup 24 hours a day. I was becoming difficult to concentrate or focus with all the insesant barking next door. I spoke to the neighbor but they don't care. They just get offended and think I should just enjoy the continuous noise the little monster makes. One day, just before I lost my mind, I decided to try the bark deterrent I got for aggressive dogs. I put in a fresh battery. Aimed it at the the little mongrel and pressed the button. The lights flashed and nothing happened. The dog didn't miss a beat and yapped away. I pressed the button several times and nothing. The neighbor saw me use the device and laughed with delight over the fact that their barking menace was invincible. This only made them more determined to let their dog without a care in the world. They let the dog out more frequently now and let it bark nonstop. This is the punishment for trying to silence the dog. So to summarize:The light works great and creates a strobe effect to dazzle the dog's barking. It makes them think they are the star of a barking show or in a barking night club. The sound is useless! It does absolutely nothing. It did nothing to deter aggressive dogs, either. Throwing the device at them for defense was more effective. It did however make me slightly dizzy, when I held it up to my ear to see listen if the sound was working. The bottom line is that I will around and try to find something better than this thing. It requires a 9 volt battery, so it's too much for a flashlight.

When we got them (I purchased 2) it worked fine . Told people in my dog rescue to get them because they worked wonderfully well. THEN, I started to hear like a hissing noise. Figured the batter was running low because it wasn't working like it did in the beginning. Purchased batter and IT STILL DIDN'T WORK! PERIOD!! What happened??????

Got this item to work on my dog's barking. He has high anxiety and barks at any noise outside (and we live in an apartment). I paired the device with comanding "quiet". He now listens to my command more and will stop significantly barking quicker than before which was my ultimate goal. Down sides are that he takes me less seriously without the device in hand. Still listens but not as swiftly. Also, the button activates the noise as well as a flashing light. The light can be a trigger for epileptics and I can't use it around many members of my family. It would be nice to have the option to turn the light off.

I’ve had this item for all of 24 hours and it serves its purpose already!!! We just moved into a townhouse and my 3 dogs get so excited with the neighbor’s dog. They bark a lot when they go outside, when he is out. So, in the effort of being a good neighbor, I had to find a solution!! This is a GREAT solution!!! I push it and they stop barking immediately! It’s wondeful!!One of the pups also barks uncontrollably when I come home. I used it for this purpose too! Just once!! I came home today and there was whining... but NO BARKING!! Wondeful product!!! Simple, easy fix!!
