This cookware was made for microwaves!
This is the last microwave gadget that you will ever buy...Guaranteed! I don't know on what the New Zealanders are doing did but they made an Optimum microwave cooker when they made this cooker by Sistema! Thesemicrowave cookware is Made in New Zeland and this is a premium brand of cooker. I have been using this since I bought it non stop yet it ne er melted in the microwave after so many uses from soups to stews even everythingmade with tomatoes yet it haven't stained nor warped this cookware. I'm so glad that I bought this for it's always a made dash to get out and going places so there's really no time to seat down slouch and eat your food for thishousehold is a busy bunch and always on the rub hence why a microwave is a must in our family and it's the most used appliance in our house and we bought a couple of these Sistema microwave cookers for each memberof our family complete with their own names on it and they're solely responsible of taking care of their cookware. So far everyone is happy and eats their meals at their leisure using these containers. As the photos I'veincluded, you can visibly see my hand size as a comparison to the food container and how big it is so you'll get an idea. A very highly recommended item if you like non warping cookware made for your microwave.

Perfect for Shin Ramyun
The Sistema 'Breakfast Bowl' is perfect for making Nongshim Shin Ramyun in the microwave.I originally bought the 'Noodle Bowl' for this purpose. While the mouth of the bowl is large enough to accommodate the dried noodle disc, the conical shape leaves a gap underneath, which can be seen by the transillumination in the backlit photo in this review. The 'Breakfast Bowl' allows the noodle disc to seat fully at the bottom (there is no transillumination with backlighting, because there is no empty space). This is not a problem if the gap is entirely filled with water, or if the noodle disc is placed obliquely so that one half is submerged. The noodles will be soft enough after a minute or so in the microwave to squish the entire disc under water. However, if you prefer less broth and would like to cook the Shin Ramyun without an intermediate noodle submersion step, go with the 'Breakfast Bowl'.I recommend the red bowl, which makes the inevitable Shin Ramyun broth staining irrelevant

Convenient & Cool to the Touch
My third try at finding a microwaveable bowl for my oatmeal, and this one works great. The other two were glass--needed oven mitts to take out the bowl--and their rubber seals fell out from under the lids over time. The Sistema is plastic and is cool to the touch right out of the microwave. And the seal is staying put (not sure whether that is because this time I am not dishwashing it, unlike the others, or because it is better made.)I recall having read a few reviews about oatmeal boiling over with this product. It does for me, too, if I microwave my oatmeal for three minutes on high. So I heat for two minutes...wait a couple of minutes...and microwave for another minute...and no muss, no fuss. To me, complaining about its boiling over makes no sense, in that if you heat water in a pot for too long over a burner on your stove it will boil over too. Why would you complain about the pot or return it? Things boil over if there is enough liquid, enough heat, and enough time. Don't see that as the product's fault; get upset at physics, if anything :-)By the way, as an aside about oatmeal, if you aren't eating Bob's Red Mill Thick Rolled Oats, you truly are missing out. This is not a planted endorsement, this is just a fan talking!

It really does work...but follow advice! Don't give up!
I got so frustrated with this thing, just like many others have. And just like many others, I have never used the power setting on my microwave. But, this makes all the difference in the world with this handy device! I am glad I went back to read some reviews before putting this permanently away. I love steel cut oats and yes you can make them in here. I put my steel cut oats and hot water (because I have access to it) in, snap on the lid, make sure the vent is opened...and set the power button to 60% for one minute. And then when it's done, I let it sit for a few minutes while I'm doing something else important, like drinking coffee. If you don't use hot water, you'll probably need to add additional time. BUT...DO NOT PUT IT IN FOR MORE THAN A MINUTE AT A TIME! I did, and it made a huge mess like before. I also think that letting it sit for a few minutes is important as well. So, before throwing it away and giving up, try decreasing the power. I love how my steel cut oats turn out now. And when I'm done, it's a breeze to clean! And most importantly, no mess to clean in the microwave!

Just ok
Was excited for this item to arrive. Eat oatmeal every morning and, with my busy morning schedule, anything that made it easier was greatly appreciated.First thing you notice is that it's not made with cheap materials. Next thing you notice, no instructions at all. Just a piece of paper that tells you it's "dishwater safe" and then in a later sentence they say to not put in dishwater. We looked at comments here from people who have bought to find out the best ways to cook oatmeal each morning with this product.Reached out to Sistema customer service (maker of this product) and their customer service is awful. When we asked for a manual so we could make different breakfast items with it, they responded with "I have noted that there does not appear to be any for the Breakfast Bowl and have brought this to our design teams attention". Within seconds of receiving that email got another that announced that "this ticket is now closed".So we will keep trying to solve to make the perfect breakfast with it but don't count on their customer service to help. It wouldn't take a lot to make this a perfect home product, they just don't seem to care
