HANAMONOGATARI: Flower Tale

Strong follow-up to the previous volume
After an excellent previous installment of this series, I was expecting the next volume to be lackluster, or at least show off more of what I hate about our hero, Araragi. To my surprise, the book features Kanbaru as a narrator and (not that much to my surprise) does not even directly follow the previous volume. I enjoyed this volume so much, and it helped solidify my belief that I really should keep continuing with this series. Both Kanbaru and her antagonist in this book were interesting, and to my delight, the ending was not what I thought it would be!

Perfect Condition, Still A Great LN
Despite the book itself having a different point of view and direction as the the previous books in the Monogatari series, being as the main character in Hanamonogatari is Kanbaru, it's still exactly what I paid for, a great and in detail narration full of character, and came in perfect condition.

Nisioisin's vision
Im' an awed fan of all his work, but I particularly enjoy the author's grasp of his characters different perspectives. When we finally get a glimpse into Suraga's inner thoughts we find her deeply introspective and humble. Such a contrast with her loud and confident public face. I look forward to seeing her grow up! A fitting epilogue for the second season.
Nisioisin decides to jump into the far flung future of 'next year' for the latest installment of the Monogatari series. Araragi, Hanekawa, and Senjogahara have graduated high school, leaving our narrator Kanbaru on her own. So when someone calling herself 'Lord Devil' shows up in town promising to make people's troubles go away, it's up to her to investigate. The main theme of Hanamonogatari is how others see you, and Kanbaru is great character to narrate that story. In past volumes, she's always been portrayed as bit of a loveable sex maniac, but here we get to see her more introspective side; her loneliness and guilt over the wishes she made on her devil arm. Plus plenty of old favorites show up in this volume, and it's fun to watch Kanbaru bounce off of them. I hope you all enjoy.

Flower tale is another great book in the series
They did a great job translating these books. The author makes tons of puns and word play in the japanese version and I think the english translator really did a good job capturing the same feel and sentiment as the original.Book itself was great, more of the monogatari series. Fans can expect the same quality and details as the previous ones.

Full of character
Learning more about Kanbaru was really fun, and I think this arc has been written well. It didn't start with the usual 80 pages of rambling but around chapter 20 there was about 3 chapters of monologue that didn't break between the first speech mark and the ending one. A bit odd. However, It was really well written and finished it pretty quickly as I couldn't put it down!
